i'm not about to argue with the Lancet, especially when it confirms all we've heard (from non batshit crazy conspiracist ivermectin-imbibing grifters) about it and seen with our own eyes.
Covid-19 is "far deadlier" than influenza, according to a new study. Led by Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly the findings were published in the Infectious Disease section of the Lancet.
The study, on 82,000 patients and 1'000 influenza patients, was conducted over 18 months and proves that not only is Covid-19 far deadlier than the flu, in terms of death, but it also causes more long-term damage to the body. The flu can also cause long-haul damage to the body, but the extent pales in comparison to Covid.
The absolute death rate for Covid-19 was shown to be 28.46 per 100 people. Meanwhile, influenza had a rate of 19.84 deaths per 100; which is 43% higher.
Meanwhile, in the acute phase of Covid, which is 30 days after hospitalization, a person suffering from the virus has a 2.5 times greater chance of death than those who have Influenza. There were three times more hospitalizations from Covid, approximately 1 million, than from flu, 360,000, in the past year.

The study also shows that people with Covid had a “significant increased risk" in 64 of 94 predetermined health outcomes, impacting nearly every organ in the body. Flu, it was shown, only impacts six of the 94 outcomes.
