Israeli military drops leaflets with Quranic verse over Khan Younis in southern Gaza
From Celine Alkhaldi in Jerusalem, Hamdi Alkhshali and Nadeen EbrahimThe Israeli military on Wednesday dropped leaflets over Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, with a Quranic verse about the great flood during the time of Noah.
“The flood overtook them, while they persisted in wrongdoing,” the leaflet reads in Arabic.
The verse comes from a surah in the Quran in which Noah is sent as a prophet to preach for 950 years and warn the people before the deluge. Those who are wrongdoers are swept away in the flood.
The paper bears the logo of the Israel Defense Forces. Video shot by AFP shows the leaflets falling from the sky over Khan Younis.
The leaflet also uses the word “tufan,” or flood — the same word Hamas used to describe its October 7 attack on Israel, the “Al-Aqsa Flood.”
CNN has asked the IDF for the intended meaning behind the leaflet.
The IDF has said it is now operating in “the heart” of Gaza's second-largest city and warned residents earlier this week that “the fighting and military advance of the IDF in the Khan Yunis area do not allow the movement of civilians through the Salah al-Din axis in the sections north and east of the city of Khan Yunis.”

For years I have held the position that "Anti-Zionism" was not "Anti-Semetic", i.e. one could criticize Netanyahu's genocidal government policies towards Gaza without being accused of being religious bigotry against the entire Jewish faith.
The United States House of Representatives passed a highly partisan resolution yesterday that stated unequivocally that "Anti-Semtism" and "Anti-Zionism" were, in fact, synonymous. The vote was something like 300-14 with 95 or so congressmen voting "present". Two Jewish representatives (both sponsors of this resolution) voted in favor, every other Jewish representative voted "Present".
And for the "beheaded babbies/rape rape RAPE!" apologists....the ration of Gazan civilian casualties to Israeli civilian casualties is now in excess of 9:1. At what point is your bloodlust retribution sated?

Israel won't stop until they hit some significant Hamas targets. The head of the Hamas wing responsible for Oct 7 is reported to be in Khan Yunis which is likely the reason for the activity there.
I'd suggest taking him out might lead them to reduce hostilities and claim victory.
The US is ramping up public rhetoric towards Israel in regards to the severity of civilian casualties. Perhaps that will also help.

The statement from Israel Defense Forces spokesperson came shortly after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the IDF had surrounded Sinwar’s house in southern Gaza.
“Sinwar’s house is the area of Khan Younis,” Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said during a press briefing. “There is terror infrastructure and headquarters there. Sinwar is not above ground. He’s underground. I do not want to mention where, and what intelligence we acquired.”
“Our role is to reach Sinwar and kill him. We need to do that as soon as possible,” he added.

Whatever happens now is all on Hamas and the Palestinians who support them. In every major war in memory, more civilians than military personnel have died as a result. Civilized people hate this but it is a well-known fact of life. We can do what we've always done, and that is holding the aggressors accountable after it's all over with a vengeance.

As for the rather incendiary claims of bloodlust related to the prosecution of a very difficult war against barbaric, terrorist animals who use their own babies and women as human shields, and who did commit rape and other atrocities against Israelis, I can only say - Hamas needs to be ended. How that happens is really up to Hamas. A negotiated mass surrender of all Hamas leaders and participants in the October 7th massacre, a return of all remaining hostages, and a complete disarmament of Gaza would likely end the suffering of the Palestinian civilians, but we all know the barbaric leaders of Hamas and the animals that participated in the October 7th massacre are never going to agree to those terms.
So the tragic but necessary carnage will continue until Hamas is ended via overt Israeli military and covert assassination actions.
Again, tragic but necessary.
