I skimmed through it. Most of it sounds good to me. Nevertheless, in the United States most of it cannot be enacted into law. As a Democrat I am interested in practical reforms with majority support.

Moreover, I think much of the Communist Party Platform, if enacted, would have results not desired.

In his Reflections on the Revolution in France Edmund Burke wrote:

"very plausible schemes, with very pleasing commencements have often shameful and lamentable conclusions...

"No difficulties occur in what has never been tried. Criticism is almost babbled in discovering the defects of what has not existed."

Putting this in my own words I will say that is is easy to find flaws in what exists. We can not find flaws in what has never existed, but we should not assume that they will not exist.

Historically Communists have been better in describing the ideal society they wanted to create, than they have been at creating it. Bertrand Russell said that we should not commit a certain evil in order to achieve an uncertain good.

When I was young I read a lot of the writings of Karl Marx, and some of Vladimir Lenin. In retrospect I will say that extensive knowledge of Marxist Leninism is what has been said of proficiency in pool: it is evidence of a misspent youth.

I think Marx had two valid insights, and that he was mistaken about everything else. I see no value in the thinking of Lenin at all.
