So over 40...but under 50...hostages are not being held by Hamas. The Qatar negotiation pathway may not be as effective in gaining their release. What other intermediary could help facilitate in their release?

Looks like the truce may be extended with both sides interested in a possible extension. The question is how many hostages will remain versus prisoners.

Previously, Israel had said it could prolong the deal for up to 10 days in total if Hamas keeps freeing some of the around 240 captives it seized in last month's attack on Israel that killed about 1,200 people.

It covers the appropriation of land 55-45% to Jews and Palestinians, the UN Partition plan of 1947, the Six-Day War of 1967, the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by Zionists, the division of Jerusalem and so on and so on. The maps and charts make it so much easier to grasp the history.

It's official - the truce has been extended by two days. Israel has said they will continue to add more if more hostages are released, and would reinstate full offensive if Hamas cannot extend further.

Israel has said it would extend the cease-fire by one day for every 10 additional hostages released. After the Qatari announcement, Hamas confirmed it had agreed to a two-day extension “under the same terms.”

Conditions for the Hamas hostages has also been coming to light - doesnt seem that Hamas treated them poorly, though hostages aren't there by invitation.

The recently freed hostages also appeared to have been held underground. Eyal Nouri, the nephew of Adina Moshe, 72, who was freed on Friday, said his aunt “had to adjust to the sunlight” because she had been in darkness for weeks.

“She was in complete darkness,” said Nouri. “She was walking with her eyes down because she was in a tunnel. She was not used to the daylight. And during her captivity, she was disconnected ... from all the outside world.
