From 1998….one of my favorites and I actually got to sing this song at the Brighton Music Hall a few years ago.

PRE teen me used to hear my trashy older teen sister play this song and I loved it - me not really understanding what it was about. Now it’s my go-to karaoke song. It can be a challenge to find someone brave cool enough to take on all 8 1/2 minutes of (usually drunk) performing with me though.

Day 12 - Grand Master Flash - The Message (1982)

A few weeks ago, we did a boys weekend away. We all grew up together and live in different parts of the country now.

After four days of drinking, we had several attempts to sing this song, which we all sang in high school. We finally got it right on the final night.

It’s probably pathetic to imagine this, or hilarious but four drunk guys in their mid-50s singing this song:

My favorite song in 2nd grade, mostly because I could say “damn” and it was on the radio.
