Must be Sunday, chore day..

Clean out and re-organize the yard storage cabinet.

Change the oil on the emergency generator and do a whole house run up.

And any other dumb shit that I can get done today that needs to be done before winter really sets in..

Life on acreage never ends..

That is for sure. I have done a ton of stuff with old American cars. But now I need to do a cam swap on my Hemi Ram and it has been a really tough one. That one is going to take me a long time to get done. It isn’t in me to pay someone else to do it. 🤣
Brenda…does your Ram have the Eco mode? My mechanic told me to get the module you plug into computer code reader under the steering wheel. He said that ECO mode will wear out cams….

I’ll try and find the link for it. It runs around $250-300 if I remember…

Mine is an ‘18 5.7Hemi…

Greetings all, I thought I’d try starting a thread for the Litsers who have passed the half-century mark so we’d have a special spot to talk about things that affect us. I hope we’ll find lots of people to post!

Maybe with your first post, a brief intro like so:

I’m mpeters, male, straight, 60 years old. I live in western Washington state. I’m married with four adopted children and work as a high school substitute teacher.

Once you’ve introduced yourself, then go on and talk about what’s on your mind!

In my case, my wife and I haven’t had sex in over 10 years, so I’ve had to handle things myself. I’ve considered trying to find a FWB, but as my students would say, I’ve got no game. I suspect that this kind of arrangement is hard to manage at my age, but I could be wrong. Trying to get something started that I could make work with my schedule would be a challenge too!
77 , Only get semi hard and dry ejaculate, but still get the feeling. Wish It would be more, you guys are lucky

A friend just texted to let me know a pod of orcas was headed my way. Sun is out & water is pretty calm, so it sound be a great opportunity for whale watching from the beach. Hope they continue this direction. 🙂
have fun wish i could see that myself

Patagucci has H2No and it's dandy. And, the stuff in my snowmachining gear is awesome and I have no idea what it is. But I also have some other brands that either do not breathe or easily soak through. I seem to get what I pay for.

I just came across this yesterday
At one time I worked for an outdoor retailer. In my experience, this is all true. The marketing for GTX has been so effective, we couldn't sell superior fabrics - even at a lower price. Consumers almost always chose GTX.

I have a hydrophone you can use, do you want me to drop it off?!
There actually are hydrophones placed in strategic points along Puget Sound to eavesdrop on orcas:

https://www.orcasound.net/

The resident orcas are quite vocal. The transients (mammal eaters) are stealth hunters and are nearly silent - until they get a kill. It was the residents (salmon eaters) who were here today.

Saw +/- 5 orcas, but from a distance. Still visible with binoculars, but not great. Hopefully they will head back this way soon on their way back north.

I've been lucky enough in the past to see them no more than 15 yards off shore. Truly impressive mammals.
I bet. It makes me a little sad to see animals in a zoo... they all look so broken.

I first saw orcas on a family trip to Florida in the 70s. As an eighth year old, it was, very simply, the coolest thing I had ever seen. As an adult, I find the idea of such wondrous creatures trapped in swimming pools gutwrenching. The Blackfish doc was so disturbing.

Mine is a ‘15 that I bought new and I disables the multi-displacement after I got a tuner that same year. The more I have dug into this problem, the more I think the problem was I was changing the oil when the truck said to, and I should have just done it more often based on mileage like I have always done with my cars.

Did you get to see them?

Really?! Even using the synthetic oil? The wife’s Toyota only gets it every 10k but the Ram’s were 7k I think? I’ve always done it at 3-5k depending on duty, up until these two vehicles, but that gives me something to think about.

Were you towing or hauling by any chance?

That factory statement is the single worst idea on maintenance ever... especially on engines with cam actuators. My daughter followed that schedule (against my advise ) and at 118,000 miles her engine quit. The mechanic (dealership) said it was the most gunked up engine he'd ever seen.

Well let's all cheers to a Monday and pray for a fast and easy work week so I can get to the weekend.....
Have a good work week!!

Any news from the mechanics regarding the leak in your car?? I know it's still early Monday morning so they may not had diagnosed the problem yet? Hope it's minor!?

I towed a car trailer with it sometimes, but looking at the records, it wasn’t every 7k miles, more like 10k or more. Like I said, I just did it when the truck asked me to. I wish I had done it at every 7k.
