And then it was Sunday.
Lazy day ahead to catch up on the sleep interrupted the fireworks.
Expecting more of the same if not worse tonight.
I used to enjoy them and I do not want to deprive the kids of the future some lessons in Darwinism. But letting them off after midnight is twaty in the worst way.

Guy Fawlkes Day?

Yes today is the 5th so it should be tonight, but they are on sale for ages before hand so like xmas is starts earlier and goes on longer each year.

It's the same around hers during 4th of July time. Ppl start shooting off fireworks starting about middle of June. We still hear them well into July. Then there are fireworks during football season.

I love fireworks but my little dog does not! It takes me a long time to calm her down.

Yup there is a spike in vets giving out sedatives for animals, then there is New Years eve etc etc. My exes dog not so bothered by them apart from shouting at them when he went out for a pee, which was a small mercy.

Man who would've thought I'd be enjoying a hot cup of Lipton tea with a splash of lemon more than coffee?!?!

I drank coffee for decades and recently just stopped and this tea I'm having right now whole browsing LIT is a wonderful way to start a chilly Sunday morning 🙂

Garage door stopped about A foot from closed for no reason. Sunday will be spent troubleshooting the problem. Glad I noticed it before bed and released the lock to close it before a critter decided to set up camp.

One of the only good things about having an older dog at times like these (14 year old golden), is she is now almost completely deaf. She used to freak out over loud sounds and was terrified around the 4th. Now my beautiful girl just rests peacefully through 95% of the action.
My girl is 7; I've only had her for 2 years. She was afraid of every noise when I first got her.

I had something else I needed to get done so I just took it in. It is hard to get under there and I didn't want to have a tow bill if he couldn't fix.... same distance to shop and home so I chose shop....
I get that. It's not easy to access the underside without at least a jack. Good luck, and I would be interested in what that find wrong.

Which system is it? Cable and pulley, or above the door torsion spring?

My doggie daughter is terrified of almost every loud noise, and around 7. I got her as a rescue over 4 years ago. whatever happened to her as a puppy, certainly scarred her for life.

What is ironic, is she is a pitbull and some people are terrified of her, and don’t realize she is far more scared of them. 🤷‍♀️

Bless you for adopting her! I call mine my puppy baby.

Unfortunately, where I live, the 4th of July is now about a month-long event. Fireworks go off at all hours. It would be nearly impossible to keep up with doggie downers. Freedom!

I guess I should introduce myself… I am a 57 year old trans woman, I am a lesbian (and my lesbian friends accept me into their group). I live in Las Vegas, widowed, and it’s just me and my doggo. No family within 1,000 miles which is fine, we don’t get along anyway.

Fireworks all through July? My woofer probably would have a heart attack. They set off fireworks for about a week around here, she gets so terrified that she has locked herself in the shower. Nothing I do comforts her, even sedative.

I miss the days when I could just climb under or into a car and do the repairs myself. With today's cars I cant't get to anything that I can fix.

It IS maddening how over engineered autos, and everything else, are now.

That is for sure. I have done a ton of stuff with old American cars. But now I need to do a cam swap on my Hemi Ram and it has been an really tough one. That one is going to take me a long time to get done. It isn’t in me to pay someone else to do it. 🤣

You Tube has been a huge help for me. I won't say it makes the job easy, but I've picked a lot of "DON'TS" there. That has saved a lot of time, money, and blood. LOL.
