I tell you, fellow old people… I’m having a difficult couple of days. Some of you may recall I’m being treated for anxiety and depression, and that the medication I was on was making it nearly impossible to cum, so I was looking to change medications. Well, a few weeks ago that happened, but of course there’s a wait for the new med to really start working as well as the old one to clear out of my system. The good news is that the side effects of the precious med are all gone (yay for me), but because the new one isn’t work yet, I’ve found that I am starting to feel down very easily. Unfortunately it’s not like I can masturbate to bring my mood up all the time (they frown on that kind of thing at my job as a high school sub). I’m pretty sure a lot of my posts here have reflected this too. Still taking the ashwandagawa (or whatever it’s called) just to be on the safe side!
It's a difficult time, that transition period. I hope the new med works well for you.
 
Several years ago I went 6 months with no pop and no alcohol. Exercised, and ate better. 55 pounds melted right off. Now I’m eating healthy and no alcohol/ pop and it’s all I can do to stay skinny/ fit.
Getting old sucks!!! And not in the good way.
I was super fit while I was playing tennis all the time but in recent years, with age-related injury issues, I played less and ate more. During lockdown I began cooking more at home and got super keen on trying different recipes, all washed down with some interesting wines. Not surprisingly, the pounds soon piled on.
Various weight loss attempts failed to work until a friend recommended cutting out carbs on the Keto Diet. I found it only worked if I also gave up alcohol. Suddenly the weight faded away and, after treatment for various injuries, I am back on court playing a little bit of tennis and loads of pickleball and padel.
I am comfortably holding my own against players 20 years younger than me, sometimes more. Our group of friends enjoys a huge social side and so I have to be careful not to put too much weight back on!
I don't worry about it too much because I am often on court for two or three hours, burning loads of calories in the process, but I generally avoid all bread and potato products during the week, and have a few treats at weekends only.
And, as this is Lit, I need to report that my improved fitness has led to extra stamina in the bedroom!
 
I'm 72 and have lost 90 lbs in the past 20 months. One main factor is I weaned myself off of depression meds, which contributed to the weight gain in the first place. I didn't "diet," I just began to eat real food and changed a few eating habits i.e. try not to eat after 6p.m.
Herbs I use regularly in teas and food preparation are : ashwaganda, maca powder, red ginseng, Gotu kola, and others.....
Exercise, of course....movement is the key when one gets older.
And a consistent meditation practice.
note: I am not anti depression medication. In my case they worked while they worked. When they quit working I tried something else and am having some decent results.

So here’s my latest, my wife got a text from someone I’ve never met saying that I was gay and cheating on her with him, fortunately she did not believe it. I’m just giving up entirely on anything but satisfying myself from now on, I don’t know how that person got the information they did, but on advice from the police I disabled my Facebook in case they were getting info from there. That’s enough to convince me it’s not worth trying to pursue anything at all.

I have a FB account but don't use it. Since Musk took over Twitter, I'm ex-X. Lit is great for socialising. I have a variety of trustworthy sources for news and information. My news feed is full of alarmist and brazenly false clickbait from the usual extremist MSM culprits. I never open them. For reading, I download quality fiction and non-fiction. Life is much richer and less hectic as a result. ☺️
 
This is a nice place to come in the early a.m. Coffee and quiet.....surfing the forums for naughtiness and madness....and yes, now and then a spicy tawdry encounter with a fellow aging perv.....
Can't go wrong with a cup of coffee or hot tea ......... and browsing thru LIT the various threads that we all love and adore on a quiet weekend morning!! The " wood " is already there anyways so why not enhance said wood hmmmmm??

After not only years but decades of drinking coffee I finally quit a few weeks ago!! Albeit I do have a nice hot cup of Lipton tea with yes of course a splash of lemon but no more coffee!!!

I worked for years in overnight 3rd shift roles and early morning 1st shift positions and coffee then was LIFE! Nowadays I'll just try to rollover like now 🤣
