I'm guessing that the "deep throat" trope was, well, popularized by the 1972 movie of that name. Maybe it was intended as hyperbole, a joke, but as often happens in movies, people took it seriously. Anyway, who ever said that porn movies are supposed to be realistic?

Deep throat can be just as warm and loving. If the woman is into it. With the right guy, it can be really amazing and caring. There is a sense of really giving yourself to your partner and them being gentle with you. This tends to work best in established relationships.
