The lit old timers thread

Is this the person formerly known as "the Princess", or are there more daughters? I'm glad you had such a great time and great weather since that was the purpose of the trip.
I have 2 daughters, 2 sons. The one formerly known as the Princess had to be the younger one, who used to be a model and drove Bluebie batshit crazy with how many towels she'd use in a day. When we ran out of towels he knew he'd have to go into her room to retrieve a 4-foot high stack of them to do laundry. That's how he discovered her bong. She couldn't believe he even knew what that was. (Still cracks me up) He told her, "You know I was a professional musician in the 70s, right?" ...went right over her head. So many stories between those two. At that time in our lives his motto was, "If I don't see it, it didn't happen." But if he saw it or became involved with it, he'd have to react. Now her oldest is in high school.

To answer your question, no. It was the older daughter who accompanied me. She worked the entire time, though she did tell me she was able to resolve 500 emails down to 50.

So a long long time ago on a different style board we had the general board. It wasn't what it is today. Which seems to be mostly about people's favorite type of porn. While we had that back in the day it wasn't the main reason for coming here.

While I don't know the in's and outs of what has gone on with people I do remember quite a few of them. Sure I wasn't buddy buddy with anyone but I could still shoot the shit regardless.

Anyways I stil see a few old timers on here. Which begs what would be considered an old timer? 2015? 2012? How well you settled and were accepted? Maybe your attitude?

I think moving politics to its own section was a mistake but that section doesn't have the traffic in my opinion.

Some of us have moved on, some of us have passed on, some of us never left, and some of us come back and forth.

Maybe some of you who know people outside of here can tell people to come say hello. They don't have to stay, but just a hello is nice.

Or don't and let this thread die off
Wow! Do we get gifts if we make it to our silver anniversary here? I only have 19 months to go until I've been here for 25 years. I guess that makes me an old-timer.

I was very active here in the early days. I could read every single thread on the GB back then and most of the How To board. I always avoided the Playground. Now I'm back at least twice each year and maybe a time or two more. You'll always find me here on 9/11 and 12/23. Two very important dates but for very different reasons.

Hello. Old Timers!
Hello!

My wife is obsessed with Pickleball!! We signed up to a 4 week clinic recently and now shes also looking for a league to play in?!
I don't get it. They use a whiffle ball but they hit it with tennis rackets or something? Or maybe I do get it and I just think it's stupid...yeah, definitely the latter.

Pickleball gets people off their butts, so that's all good. I'd rather ride my bike or ski. Then, I'm not having to deal with people.

While I have never tried it, I can appreciate it as something less strenuous and less likely to cause injury than tennis. What I don't get is the need when badminton already exists.

Pickleball is growing steadily here in the UK as well, with loads of women (of all ages) getting involved. It's only a matter of time before the "social opportunities" begin to happen ...
