The lit old timers thread

I’m on my 3rd smart watch. Actually bought this one during prime day, past ones were gifts and hand me downs.
Mine does call if I fall or bend my hand back enough to hit the button, less bendy people shouldn’t have this problem. It alerts me when my gait is of, has ecg and o2 but neither are automatic, takes both hands and you must remain still, not an easy feat if one’s heart rate is going all over the place. In general it’s worth it though. It also track sleep, steps, movement , exercise, hr and other things.
Someplace-get it out of the box and start having fun with it.

What’s considered an old timer around here? I’ve been here for about 8 years. Discovered it by happenstance while dating a girl who was into erotic stories and what not. Still like the site but it changed a bit.

I guess it depends on how well known you are to a degree?
It's like on of those charts. The ones that look like this : L_____

So the left side could be popular or how well know and the bottom time. Thats how I kinda see it personally. There can be other factors if it works for the person.

I suppose it's mostly a matter of other oldies remembering you.

Hi! I'm still alive and can't believe this thread still is!
Hi everyone and old timers especially.;):p

VACA report: to all the doubters that thought it would be too hot in Maryland/Eastern Shore over Labor Day weekend.... I left the record month+ of triple digit heat in Houston for 4 days of low to mid 70s with soft breezes during the day to lows in the 60s at night and in the morning. It was perfect. To be honest, my first husband who lives nearby, messaged me that he found it ironic the weather was so great over the days I was there. He said it was supposed to go back to hot & humid the day I left. :)

My daughter went with me as Keeper. She'd never been to Baltimore, so we spent some time there. Went to the Inner Harbor - saw the ships and the 9/11 monument to the Marylanders who perished (featuring some of the twisted beams -- very somber), ate crabcakes, bought some birthday cupcakes from Charm City Cakes and got our hair done. WHY? I don't know. It was what she wanted to do. I also showed her Annapolis and where I used to live next door to the Public House in Edgewater. We got held up by a draw bridge - another first for her. The place we stayed on Eastern Shore was a bit far away but really nice. It was about 15 min from the Harriett Tubman Center (run by the Nat'l Park Service), which we toured and learned a bunch. The rest of the time was spent sitting by the water or watching the water and shipping/boating traffic from either chairs at water's edge, inside through picture windows or upstairs on the rooftop deck. We did take a short drive to the end of the road across the islands. At some places the water came practically right up to the road on both sides. I imagine when it storms, people out there get cut off. The day after my daughter had a big bowl of mussels for dinner, she discovered mussels growing all over the rocks at water's edge of the property. She was kind of grossed out and I doubt she'd have eaten them had she seen that first. Hahahahahahahahaha We had nearly a whole day between check-out time and flight time so we drove over to Virginia near Mount Vernon for another really nice meal along the Potomac and I showed her places I lived during my late teens and early twenties. She thought it was pretty there (because it is!).

We arrived back in Houston and walked out of the elevator into the parking garage to be smacked in the face by HOT AIR. By the time we walked about 50 feet to the car, we were both sweating. BLECH. At 11:30 pm it was 85 degrees. Welcome HOME!

Ya know, I see some of y’all with 2001, 2002, 2003 join dates and I think man, truly old timers. Then I realize it’s 2023 and then 2006 seems to fall in the old timer category with ease.

I recognize and have interacted with a number of you. But like your experiences a lot of folk from when I was most active on the GB have moved on. Been fun hanging out at Lit.

Glad you had a fun time on Maryland‘s eastern shore, someplace. I hope you tried the clam chowder. If not, you’ll have to go back.

Is this the person formerly known as "the Princess", or are there more daughters? I'm glad you had such a great time and great weather since that was the purpose of the trip.

I, obviously, joined in 2012. I went away for a while. Now that I am back, I am surprised by how few people I used to talk to are still here. There was so much more regular conversation before.
