The real determining factor in successful suicides is how seriously the person wants to die. Until you've actually seen a person put a strap around their neck and a a coat hook on the wall and sit down and strangle themselves to death you will never understand how seriously someone wants to die. So please don't lecture me on suicide and the ways to do it. In all my years in fire and ems I saw only 3 gunshot suicides, the other ways far outnumbered gun shots.

Could be a call for help, might even be attention seeking for some(ugh). Truthfully it's to release endorphins so one feels better... if done right. Remember... it's across the trestles not down the tracks.

There is a law in some places and it's stupid. Really‽ Suicide considered first degree murder‽ Who they gonna arrest?

"This man murdered himself. Dispatch, we need the necromancer at this location, this murderer needs to pay for making himself a victim of his self."

Fucking stupid.

There's a reason for those laws, by calling it a felony it gets the insurance companies off the hook. I didn't say it was a 'good' reason.

If you are referring to auto-erotic asphyxiation in the case of the guy that used the strap to hang himself, sorry no. He was fully dressed, in a cluttered closet.

I will admit to being stunned at how badly he wanted to die. Strangulation is a slow, agonizing way to die.
 
So-called "ghost" guns are more for folks who think that the feds don't need to know everything, mostly because they hardly know anything.

I thought I’d make a list of the fully automatic weapons I’ve fired along with some comments. They’re in no particular order.

M1917 Browning heavy (30 cal) If you want to get a machine gun crew killed, this is the one to give them.

M1919 Browning (30 cal) Better, you can pick it up and run before the mortars zero in.

M2 (50 cal.) There’s a reason this one is still around.

M14 POS on full auto.

M14E2 Marginally better POS.

M14E2 w/muzzle break This one’s a keeper. Accurate and manageable.

MG42 (Hitler’s Buzz Saw) Worthy of respect.

G36 (the ‘new’ buzz saw) Better than the M16 or M4

MP9 Very good for very close CQB (room clearing)

M3 Just FUN

1928 Thompson More funner (at least it has sights)

M249 Scary when it’s running well

M16 Meh

M4 Has the virtue of the 3 rnd. Burst

AK’s Has the virtue of you can throw it in the mud, march an army over it, pick it up and it’ll still fire.

So...do you think it is safe for people that "hardly know anything" to own any kind of gun?

For me first it's Thompson sub machine gun, horizontal foregrip, finned bathen rrel, Cutts compensator, and the adjustable rear site as a first choice. Then a BAR, then an M2, then a StG44, then an MG42, then an MP38/40, then an M3, then an Uzi, then an AK-47, then an MK-19 belt fed full auto grenade launcher, then an M134 mini-gun, then a Bren Gun...

I've already fired the M249 SAW and it was SWEET. No recoil and very accurate in 3 or 4 round bursts.
 
That's what should be illegal.

They should in no way be a law enforcement arm of the government.

It's bad enough that they're already a hand out looking for handouts at the figurative point of Mao's barrel...
