No it wasn't. Trump won but Hillary had a 2.1% lead in the popular vote (Trump 46.1% to Clinton 48.2%) not even close to 6%. The disclaimer for most polls says accuracy is in doubt under 5% difference. Besides, this report:Except in that case, the polls were fairly accurate taken as the whole of the popular vote. It was only when the votes were mangled by the electoral college system that Cheeto was declared the winner - and Clinton conceded.

says most polls are 95% confident in their conclusions, but only 60% accurate. Good odds in Vagas. Not so much in prognosticating what the American public is going to do.
