wow, where have you been? it's been a while.

We should change this to the "good morning" thread

ha! this thread [in its original form] was very busy at one time, over a span of a few years. i try to keep it going because it goes back to 2002 [or thereabouts]. the regulars were actually a group who met up from time to time. i mentioned somewhere in earlier pages here about there being at least 2 weddings out of it. It petered out as people moved on with their lives. the pages do get brief spurts [no pun] of activity if a lady posts. that's usually when lurkers come out to sniff.

expertlinguist was a regular good-morning chap until recently. he has health problems and has gone dark - so i fear the worst.

anyway... good morning.

Yes i have to agree lit is not what it once was well at least not for me had many friends here over the years but like you say people move on. Sorry to hear about good morning chap fingers crossed though!

This post made me smile and feel sad at the same time. Very sad about the expertlinguist's plight. He has such a zest for life, a true adventurer and age didn't seem to slow that down. It's been a long time since we chatted but he's interesting enough to stalk . Definitely not pipe and slippers. I do hope he recovers.

The smiling bit of your post is that I played an online game for 10+ years and was in a group of 'oldies' who'd meet up every now and again... our teens played the game and we watched without them knowing most of the time ... as ya do! We had valid reasons lol. No shenanigans on our meet ups, usually just the nearest pub to the hotel for a day or two of banter and catch up. Out of this annually increasing group came 3 weddings and 2 funerals - more will come, unfortunately. Definitely precious times and good friends were made.

Quite right. Can't possibly dunk choccie biccies. Dunking is an exact science, or artform. not quite sure which? Getting just the right amount of soggy before it falls off into the tea...
