What’s your most controversial opinion?

I am seriously bad at PMs. I come to Lit to be a twat on the threads and interact with lots of different people. I don’t want my time to be tied up in PMs all the time. Outside of Lit, I am better at messaging. There are a few people who I respond to in PM but that is because I don’t have them on any other media and I enjoy talking to them. It does take me ages to respond to them though
I'm like this. I generally hate to PM, but don't want everyone to have my other info either.

Well then, that’s good to know. I was going to send you a bunch of explicit photos and some really outrageous audios, but I guess I’ll just send them to @Indie instead.

Old Letterman clips are still more entertaining than any of the late night shows that have returned since the end of the writers' strike.

I would give weapons to prisoners.
Take away their teevees and xboxes and replace them with large, sharp knives.

Fewer criminals released back into our communities,
fewer prisoners clogging up the courts,
fewer prisoners period.
Controversial opinion - people who fantasize about killing criminals are psycopaths.

A person committing a crime is still a human being.

What about the guy who took part in a protest that got out of hand. Does he deserve to die for that?
Or the woman who couldn’t afford to feed her family so she stole a bag of potatoes. Is that worth death?
What about the people that are innocent but circumstance made them appear guilty?

There are many justice systems around the world that need an overhaul to reduce the bureaucratic burden and the costs involved. There are many people in prison for crimes they have committed that are not a danger to society. What type of crimes should carry a prison sentence?

People are still people. Taking the life of a criminal is not going to take away the crime they committed and there is no certainty that they would have committed the crime again. So many of the crimes committed have not been because of harm to another individual.
I've not said criminals aren't human beings.
You do not get sent to prison for stealing a bag of potatoes because this isn't the 16th century.

If there are fewer criminals then perhaps the courts could spend some on each case to ensure that innocent people weren't wrongly convicted?

If there were fewer criminals then funds could be spent on prevention/rehabilitation rather than trying to control a violent incarcerated community.

I'd also have to challenge your definition of 'harm' or 'damage' - Burglary for example is one of the most disgusting, despicable things to do to someone, to rob them of their sense of security in their home.

Controversial opinion.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if someone posted a massively offensive (and by most of our standards) intolerable opinion.

Just to see if they got banned for it. Even though technically it follows the idea of the thread.

(I'm not suggesting that some dickhead should actually spout off about something bad or hateful though).
Clearly you weren’t here for the pineapple on pizza debacle the first thirty times it happened.

I would just rather they were killing each other rather than released because the prisons are overcrowded to rape, rob and murder innocent people.

Psychopaths don't have empathy for the many, many, MANY victims of horrible crimes committed by those who should have been still in prison.

I said what I said.
