It would be interesting to see what would happen if someone posted a massively offensive (and by most of our standards) intolerable opinion.

Just to see if they got banned for it. Even though technically it follows the idea of the thread.

(I'm not suggesting that some dickhead should actually spout off about something bad or hateful though).

Maybe it's due to the fact that I just started scouring the forums but I have received so many DMs that I have inadvertently slowed my responses to people I met just a few days ago. I don't like being that kind of person. Be upfront and go with it.

I think that being ghosted or slow responses or Over active responders is the risk of “dealing” online.

There are some folks I never respond to. If you do not engage with your pm or you pm me and expect me to do all the lifting in the conversation that is no fun. It should be a give and take. I will also say that I can be super slow to respond sometimes but if I don’t want to talk to someone I will tell them. This is why I get called “mean”. I don’t think it’s mean I think it’s better to be direct.

I am seriously bad at PMs. I come to Lit to be a twat on the threads and interact with lots of different people. I don’t want my time to be tied up in PMs all the time. Outside of Lit, I am better at messaging. There are a few people who I respond to in PM but that is because I don’t have them on any other media and I enjoy talking to them. It does take me ages to respond to them though
