Vacate Watch - Speaker Mike Johnson (R - LA)

That giant omnibus bill doesn’t pass the senate if it weren’t for McConnell and a gaggle of cowardly *RINO* senators who voted for that ridiculous bill. Bringing the house back to regular order, stop running the government from one continuous resolution to another, stop waiting till the last minute. No more omnibus bills. Democrats don’t want to cut spending, they never do. But republicans also don’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to spending either, that’s the crux of the frustration ailing the gang of eight. To accuse the gang of voting with democrats is intellectually dishonest.
The majority of right wing policies enacted within the last 20 years are because of McConnell. He's no RINO

Competiton is over. The stats:

**This duplicate McCarthy thread (2nd in time posted): 33 out of 76 total posts so far were by the thread starter. (Obviously attempting to prop up his own thread.)

**The original McCarthy thread (1st in time posted): 8 out of 125 total posts so far were by the thread starter.

That's the most embarrassing thread competition failure on the forum this year, especially coming from a self-appointed forum police officer. What a smack-down. 🤣

II74: That's your cue to attempt to make it about me instead, or pretend you don't care. Your posting history proves otherwise, though. :nana:

What's even more weird is that the majority of his posts there (and on other threads) are replies to BBs that don't really provide much new information.

You keep saying the gang of eight, you do realize that already is a term in the government you can’t just repurpose because your feeble mind can’t come up with something else right? (Security clearance my ass!)

There were eight votes who stood up and made history hoping folks like yourself don’t actually look too deep into things and just trust what they say they are going to do.

But it really just shows how weak and dysfunction MAGA folks want things to be, if they can’t get their way they are going to blow it all up. Our government has always been set up for compromise and collaboration with a set of checks and balances, but these MAGA folks think theirs is the only way and they are going to destroy everything until they get there.

Well ‘24 will be a test to see how that works out- and we know there will be at least one seat changing in gerrymandered Alabama- just need two more right?

Don’t think this mess will easily get the two and dozens more? Or will you try to blame all of this on Hunter Biden? 🤣

Jordan is hated by his own party. I don't think he could ever get the votes.
But that is the power that Party has given their fringe. Watch and learn. Was it worth it if their power increases?

I’m trying. I’m really trying.
The old saying is that getting Democrats to agree is like herding cats. I hate it sometimes, but I think it also leads for us to have better, more nuanced approaches to governance. I, on a matter of principle, try not argue with fellow progressives. Unfortunately, with your recent posts, I’ve come to believe that you are not really a Democrat, or care for democratic principles. If you are, then you are highly hypocritical and I will apologize if you can correct me.

1. Why are you suggesting that we play defense off of what Republicans choose as their next possible speaker? From day one, the Democrats have voted in a solid block majority 15x who they want to be the speaker of the house and that is Hakeem Jeffries. I do not know what’s going to happen, but the possibility still remains that for a Republican to be the speaker of the house they may have to share leader ship with Hakeem Jeffries. Even if that doesn’t happen, the fracture in the Republican caucus is apparent to everyone. They needed democratic votes to keep the government going and the irony of Gaetz is that he needed democratic votes to get rid of McCarthy. Democrats will remain the minority/majority no matter what amount of awful wins the speakership.

2. You argue that Democrats need to offer up a plan to garner votes other than saying that Republicans are bad. I agree. But then, as I have argued against others before, you turn around and call people seeking asylum the derogatory term of illegals. Just say undocumented. Respect a persons humanity. Both sides are trying to woo a growing Hispanic population and you do us, or your argument, no favors. I know that others on my side may use that term, but I am asking, again, leave that immaturity to the other side.

3. I do not even know how to respond to someone attributing the frequency of the president’s dog to bite directly to his presidential leadership. That’s a level of disconnect… I mean, wow. I’m head scratching speechless.

As the House can't conduct business until there is a Speaker, the nation would be better off if no one is selected for the rest of the year.

How so?

FAA employees? Merry Christmas as they work for nothing.

Credit default. How is that good?

Exactly what is to be gained?
