If someone wants to kill themselves and no gun is available they will use whatever method is available. Like standing on the tracks as a train is coming. Walking out in front of a semi. Jumping from a height sufficient to kill them. Poison. Auto exhaust in a closed garage. Hanging. Cutting their wrists. Drug overdose.

Got some really good pix. of some BIG bulls pushing their harems around. Counted maybe 50 Elk in a 10 acre area. Heard many more bulls bugling off in the woods all around us. That was the good news.

The bad news is the fucking forest service has cut/blocked even more roads.

This. It's likely the least violent and most effective one available. I knew a guy who did this and was found a few breaths before death set in. They revived him, he got help, and he got his shit in order and lived long enough to die of old age.


Good on the elks. One my 770 mile road trip yesterday, I only saw 1 dead deer. I was surprised considering the time of year. I went to north Jersey once at this time of year and there were 2 per mile it seemed.

Most dead deer I've seen per mile was on the Merritt Pkwy. in CT. I-10 in the Pecos region of TX. was a close runner-up.
