One, just because someone claims to be a Christian doesn't mean they are perfect or without issues or sinless or anything like that. Anyone who truly follows the Bible and teachings of Christ is well aware of this.

Two, more and more the term Christian is used by people who want to be associated with that for various reasons but who don't actually have any personal interest in truly following the teachings of the Bible or Jesus.

You end up with a terrible situation where people who don't know Christians are talking about people who claim to be but aren't Christians.

The Bible is bollocks, as is the Koran, the Vedas, the tales of Buddha and the Avesta. All religious writings are put together by priestly castes for their own personal benefit.

I am far from religious but I was forced to attend church as a child. Later when I was married to my first wife she forced the issue of taking our kids to church. I have attended a few different denominations and one thing stands clear to me...church has no effect on a bad person and only re-enforces the good in good people. It always seemed to me that the biggest "sinners" sat in the front row and sang the loudest, prayed the loudest, and acted the most pious. But come Monday morning they reverted to being the biggest jag offs that ever lived.

You end up with a terrible situation where people who don't know Christians are talking about people who claim to be but aren't Christians.

I know "christians" and frankly I don't want to be associated with the majority of them. It doesn't hurt them at all if someone doesn't believe as they do but too many take it as a challenge and will harass you about God and church.
