You are correct. The Supreme Court declared there was an inherent right to privacy when states began demanding "proof of marriage" to sell contraceptives in the 1960s.Except within certain circumstances there is NO inherent 'right to privacy.' The principle of 'privacy,' what it encompasses, and what it doesn't goes back to Roman law. Essentially that privacy existed only within the confines of your own house. We have extended that to include interactions with your lawyer, doctor, and other select professionals. But even those protections collapse if the individual and select professional are engaged in a conspiracy to commit a felony.
Today's Extreme Court obviously believes there's no such inherent right, because Facism Uber Alles.
Soooooo.....I look forward to states requiring web cameras in all homes where a firearm is licensed, so they may perform spot checks to find out if "good guys with guns" are leaving their precious steel peener substitutes unsecured.
Think this is illegal? Cops are using license plate readers to scan any and all cars on the road for people with outstanding warrants, and the courts have held that nobody is forcing you to drive a car, so you consent government oversight.
Same thing with personal firearms should apply, no? Hmmm?
