Just got my first comment on my latest story 5 minutes ago.The last comment I got was 12 hours ago. The one before that, was over a week ago. I thought the comments seemed to be slowing down.
Okay then, maybe it's just me or my stories.
My last comment was yesterdayWhen was the last date you got a comment?
When was that last story side update thing where it was down?
In most cases, they're too busy writing to read anything, never mind write comments as well. It does happen, though. Why are authors so concerned about comments, but hardly show up there themselves, like they don't care? )
I'm as guilty as anyone. Since I took up the pen to indulge my own literary erotica stylings, I've read precisely three stories and one of those was a proof reading/editing request. In my defence, I did leave a comment on one of them.*Feeling a little called out*

They're writing, not reading. Why are authors so concerned about comments, but hardly show up there themselves, like they don't care? )
Because we're hugely outnumbered by non-authors.Why are authors so concerned about comments, but hardly show up there themselves, like they don't care? )
I don't think this is true. Some authors don't read other stories, but many do. On average I probably read a few stories a week at Literotica. If I really like the story, I will almost always comment. If my reaction is "meh," I might not if I don't feel like I have something constructive to say.Why are authors so concerned about comments, but hardly show up there themselves, like they don't care? )
I mean, in the comments on their own stories. The fingers of one hand are enough to count the number of times I've seen authors in conversation with their reader )I don't think this is true. Some authors don't read other stories, but many do.
Oh, I see. I didn't know about that. TnxThat's because we can't reply directly to the people.
