I can't help hoping he may have helped us along towards curing that cancer. A lot of white Americans had no idea how much racism was still out there. Now they're at least somewhat better informed!

When I was young I wondered why every politician professed to being so religious when most people I knew were somewhere between atheist and DGAF.

Then I found that nobody could be President without the backing of the Bible Belt; that was before Nixon openly brought the racist elements across the aisle. The Electoral College did what it was designed to do and the rest is history. The RW Khristians have always had an undue influence on US politics, right now it's as acceptable to be bigoted as it ever was, even into the 1930's.

It won't be long at this rate before there are cops trying to prevent kids from going into school while the National Guard escort them in and old people glare at them.

You're probably right about the people you're talking about. But that wasn't who I meant. I was thinking of the many, many educated white suburban voters who support abortion rights, gun control, etc. and don't hate POC or gays, but who still tend to vote Republican because they believe the propaganda about Democrats being too far left. Every time Trump opens his mouth, that becomes harder to rationalize. They may not yet be prepared to cross the aisle (it will take a LOT of deprogramming to do away with the silly idea that tax cuts for the rich do anything but make the rich richer), but they can no longer pretend they're not supporting a bunch of bigots.

Hardcore MAGAts can only be deprogrammed from their brainwashing by locking them up when they cross the line with violence, threats of violence, insurrection, and the like. Locking up the ones who cross the line will eventually moderate the behaviors of the more closeted MAGAts. We saw this when portions of the left wing got out of hand in the 60s and 70s.

MAGAts are generally too far gone at this point to reason with. Mass psychoses have occurred in the past, such as the Nazi movement in Germany. It takes decades or even centuries of enforcing the rule of democratically established law to defuse the hateful and freedom-suppressing brainwashing.

1) If we randomly mated all humans...within 3 generations there would be no races. Why? Because there is no selective advantage to any race

Generally we take bets on how long a new alt will last before they violate Lit guidelines and disappear, but there has been such a high turnover lately. We would have to place so many bets that we'd have no time left for pursuing our interests in real life.

Deplorables generally don't find meaningful and lasting satisfaction in real life, so they dedicate themselves to trying to make everyone as miserable at they are. The silver lining is that the recent surge in MAGAt alts indicates how desperate they are about their cult being subjected to serious legal prosecution.

We will see this new surge rise and fall rapidly now that the jig is up in the justice system. Maybe we should just hire more custodians to mop up their surge of tears.
