no adoption, just conservatorship
be an interesting case and considering the whole premise of the book and movie depend on the 'payoff' of the adoption, and he didn't even realise the papers they had him sign weren't adoption papers and a whole lot of money's been made... and then why wasn't he offered the choice of opting out of conservatorship once he turned 18? Kinda like they were treating him as mentally challenged
