Anna Paulina Luna tweeted about the material she has gathered for the House Oversight UFO hearing, consisting of pictures of several alleged sightings.

But a number of Twitter users questioned the credibility of one of the images that shows an object in the air shaped like Batman’s face, leading to speculation that officials have confused a party balloon for a UFO.

“The military ‘leaked’ a photo of a Batman party balloon and claimed it was a UFO. That seriously made me doubt their ability to analyze anything,” said one person.

As you know, AARO is a new office called for in the FY2022 NDAA and established just this past summer. We have an important and yet challenging mission to lead an interagency effort to document collect, analyze, and when possible, resolve reports of unidentified anomalous phenomena.

Let me start by thanking Under Secretary Moultrie for his leadership and support in establishing AARO. As he said, we take UAP reports seriously. Unidentified objects in the skies, sea and space pose potential threats to safety and security, particularly for operational personnel. AARO is leading a focused effort to better characterize, understand and attribute these objects and is employing the highest scientific and analytic standards.

Though AARO is only a few months old, I want to highlight some of the early accomplishments. Since AARO's establishment, we've transferred the data and responsibilities from the previous Navy-led UAP Task Force and disestablished it. During that transition, we've taken the opportunity to expand and standardize and integrate UAP reporting and reevaluate the data we've collected. Given the large and disparate nature of the data, and the need to apply rigorous methodology. AARO has developed an analytic framework that structures, formalizes and applies analytic best practices to the evaluation of that data.

On the tv interview aired this morning, he stated quite clearly that at least 98% of sightings were easily identified, and the few that remained were generally identified as more reports of similar anomalies come in giving further clues. Some of the identifications are still ongoing/unresolved. He said that did not mean they were extra-terrestrial in origin but he also said that it would be (paraphrased) some kind of hubris given the size of the known universe to not accept the possibilities of alien life existing.

One video, available on the Pentagon's website, shows an incident that occurred in the Middle East on 12 July 2022, where a ball-shaped object flew over what appears to be a military base and was captured on aerial footage by a MQ-9 drone. This object is still under investigation and remains unidentified.
The other video showed a view of an incident the Pentagon said occurred over South Asia on 15 January 2023. In this instance a MQ-9 drone captured infrared video showing another MQ-9, while another object flew through the field of view. In this case, after analysis and review of additional footage and information, the object was determined to be a commercial aircraft.

If they've done it before they can do it again.

Expert eyewitness testimony will always be more compelling and carry more weight than some bureaucrat in his office reading off reports. The "Don't believe your lying eyes" approach to debunking highly trained, war hero, jet fighter pilots eyewitness testimony won't get far with the general public. I used to have a house in the Canaries, where there are clear dark nights that you don't get normally. Shooting stars and satellites are seen there regularly, every day you can hear tourists talking about weird lights but they were commonplace really. By the end of their vacations even the tourists were used to it.
