New format mailbox 📬 question

Do we need to still purge our mail box’s because there is a limit like there was before the format change ?

Thank you , I have another question if you don’t mind. With this new forums updates feature I’m assuming if someone decides to put you on ignore after a PM conversation. You won’t be able to still talk to them in private message ?

Thats their choice in a private message chat ? The ability to hang up on someone and block their contact ability. If they leave that door open , then it’s still a private message between consenting adults . Is that correct

I haven’t tested this in the forum update, but I believe if one PMs a user who has them on ignore, the recipient will not receive the message.

On a related note, I do know that a person can leave a PM conversation and will be prompted to opt to allow or block future conversations. I like that feature so people have some control on who can send them PMs without necessarily ignoring them entirely.

That feature is what I’m most curious about. My train of thought is if a role play conversation to use as an example , becomes paused to use as another example. Or maybe someone takes a Lit break from posting all together and is just taking a break. They have the power to disable the conversation or leave it still open with that feature You just mentioned.

They have that power at their fingertips , to use at will. I’m thinking the new feature will tell someone a complete stranger that meets here in lit they have been dumped rather than ghosted. If that line of communication is still open , they haven’t iggy’d you. That conversation is just on pause.

I get that , that’s a no answer is an answer. My logic being as I’m cleaning up my mailbox . If I place that conversation as open for a reply at a later date , they have the conversation in their court to reply or like to ring the notification doorbell and the. Message can start anew. But I’m not paying attention to that conversation anymore As an attention priority , for the manners aspect of a private message conversation.

Agreed. I am not one to delete messages, anyway. I loved that I used to have a larger inbox as a mod, but I really like that we all have seemingly unlimited storage now. We can all organize to our preference.
