•Anyone have any burning science questions?
Note: this does not apply for burning coming from yourself… if this is the case please seek medical attention
Oxygen is necessary for life and also it was probably me•
Hey crazychemgirl, was that actually you who posted on the Politics Board a while back under this account???
Also: Can you explain why oxygen isn’t a greenhouse gas???
•Oxygen is necessary for life and also it was probably me
Lmfao no … (on both counts)•
We’re you chemically impaired when you posted on the Politics Board???
Also: So Oxygen not absorbing infrared light doesn’t also eliminate it as a greenhouse gas???
•Lmfao no … (on both counts)
I’m just … oy•
Weird:
Oxygen and nitrogen are not greenhouse gases, because they are transparent to infrared light.
A friend of mine showed me this and convinced me.
Huh.
•I’m just … oy
I didn’t even have the energy to reply
I’m having a day … it’s Monday. My mind was elsewhere. Sorry for the lazy responses .. I also wasn’t sure if you were a troll or a real person•
I’m not sure if that is an answer or if you’re having a brain freeze/ aneurism.
*disappointed frown*

Ok fair … I actually took a course in atmospheric chemistry … but do you think I can remember fuck all about it except free radicals and fucking acid rain?•
I’m definitely real, and I am definitely curious about atmospheric chemistry and how it relates to climate change.
The oxygen question only came up because another friend of mine assured me that oxygen was indeed a greenhouse gas.
I concluded it isn’t based on the “transparent to infrared light” explanation.
Your initial answer kinda threw me off.
*shrugs*
Unfortunately there isn’t much you can do besides a regular clean of your coffee makerOK, this is a serious question.
Coffee makers always go bad because of the scale build up.
I suppose I could always use distilled water instead of tap, but isn't there something we could easily add to each pot that prevents this but doesn't ruin the coffee or kill me?
(I'm cranky...my coffee maker didn't work this morning and it's thrown my whole day off....)
Would citric acid and water soak every few months help?Unfortunately there isn’t much you can do besides a regular clean of your coffee maker
Could always just pitch the coffee maker every month and buy new.Would citric acid and water soak every few months help?
Vinegar is bestWould citric acid and water soak every few months help?
Covalent is when two atoms share electrons … ionic is when they are held together by charge differenceI could never remember this in school. What's the difference between a covalent and ionic bond?
Clearly it was not the right time for us … the universe had other plans. We needed to wait for @OrdinaryPerson to make it a terrific trioView attachment 2256484
How am I supposed to feel if I met my best friend 9 years ago but we only became friends this year?
