LW Has Turned Into a Misogynist Wasteland

Well, my latest chapter of the Lifestyle series in Loving Wives posted last night (Lifestyle Ch. 15 - Unleashing), and true to form, the 1-bombers are having a field day with this one. It's now eleven hours later, and the story stands at 1.45 with 20 votes!!! So, setting my personal goal at 3.0 for this story might have been overreach.

But I'll be interested if I can get any comments from those "haters of misogynistic stories" crowd on what they think of these characters.

Wow. It amazes me that people who HATE a particular type of story would spend that much time on what they hate, just to try to hurt you with low ratings. Who has that kind of time on their hands? Cheating is not my thing, but I do understand certain situations where it happens, and have a few neglected wife or shared/swinger wife ideas on my to-do list. If I end up with a 1.45, I'll wear it like a badge of honor.

I’m pretty sure there’s someone with a zombie network that 1 bombs people they don’t like in LW. I wake up in the middle of the night a lot around 3 AM, and I see (usually) that I have a decent 4.5ish overall rating on a new story. Then, I finally pass back out around 4 or 5 and wake up again around 6 or 6:30. If I check the story at 5, the rating and number of ratings is usually pretty close to the same as when I wake up at 3. But then, usually just after 6, the overall rating tanks and dozens of new ratings come in all at once. And the system is, otherwise, very responsive when new ratings come in, so I don’t think it’s just something being batched up.

Unreal. People just confound me.

This thread is still going on? Once on the subject of votes, I brought up a term used by Nathanael West. (It's in The Day of the Locust.) He called it "excited disgust." He meant people who profess to hate something but they are secretly (or maybe not so secretly) obsessed with it and they can't stop looking at it or thinking about it. That explains a lot of what goes on here, especially in regards to LW.

I resurrected this due to the OP being invited to beta-read my story to provide input before it posted. (Bob never replied to me.)

That's okay, I just had lost track of what was going on here. It seemed to have ended around April 15 originally. But I've seen much older threads revived, like after years had passed.

You'll no doubt have noticed that most of those who go on about trolling voters all write in the same category. Choose your categories wisely, and live with your choices.

I just submitted my first unapologetic full-length hot wife story to Loving Wives. I'm eager and curious to see how it does.

Insatiable Mrs. Pillsbury.
Are you deliberately prodding the monkey, or is it a genuine go at a story? How long is it?

It's 11,000+ words. I'm not prodding the monkey. It's intended to appeal to people who genuinely like hot wife stories. I know there's a significant readership for those stories, and I'm curious how it will do. I don't care about the score. I'm sure some will disapprove of it.

You should do a poll on the comment mix, make it StatisticalSimon, give young Emily a run for for her money.

At least you'll get a boost in your comment ratios!

I've a neglected trophy wife story and a hotwife story on the docket.
I ain't skeered.

Must not have been published yet, as I can't find it. I do like a well written hotwife/sharing/swinging/cuckolding story, as long as the wife does not turn into an evil nasty cunt, humiliating and denigrating her husband, or allowing someone else to do so. I prefer them consensual and loving.

It's slated for publication on May 1, which should mean before midnight Pacific Daylight Savings Time tonight. There's no humiliation involved. It's totally consensual and I wanted to try to convey the mutual playfulness and respect in the relationship. I'm sure some won't get it and will be infuriated, but I don't mind that.

I am familiar with your writings. In fact, I have a couple saved as favorites

My just-published LW story has one vote so far--and it's a 1! I've never had a story scored as a 1 before. Bold new ground. Look on the bright side -- it can't get worse.

Godspeed and good luck. I posted one story in LW, next story went into E+V, completely different category, different subject matter, and frankly spot on message if I do say so myself. It got a 1 bomb within minutes, first vote, never happened before. Did I pick up an anti-fan from LW? There's creams for that, right?

All I can say, from the first scene, is that you baited the bear. You say you didn't do that deliberately, and all the rest is blah blah blah, but how is your approach any different to those writers who say they do write to troll the trolls?

I write to please those who like these kinds of stories, which is the opposite of "baiting the bear." I'm not going to soft-pedal it just to play nice with readers whose views I don't care about. My BTB story was a case of deliberately baiting, because I pulled a switcheroo at the end. With this story I was very upfront about what it was. I don't call that baiting.

Fair enough. It just struck me as provocative, that's all.
