Better yet, restrict the use of automobiles to trips to and from work and medical appointments.Thereby lies the solution. Ban the trucks that deliver the guns and ammo to your mountainside town.
That seems awfully intrusive. Or we could build walkable cities with cheap mass transit so people who live there don't have to drive everywhere. That would save thousands of lives.Better yet, restrict the use of automobiles to trips to and from work and medical appointments.
I was being facetious. I drive all over the place needlessly spewing carbon. That seems awfully intrusive. Or we could build walkable cities with cheap mass transit so people who live there don't have to drive everywhere. That would save thousands of lives.
You have my sympathies. It sucks living someplace where driving is mandatory.I was being facetious. I drive all over the place needlessly spewing carbon.
The place names involved are either German or Polish, not English. My spellchecker was unhelpful. Since I don't speak or write in either language, I don't feel any shame about misspellings. I've actually visited one of the extermination camps, so I have a bit of an appreciation for the genocide. I also am aware of the Warsaw uprising.English is the official language of most states. Learn it.
You claim to not be able to write or speak the language, yet you seem to have assimilated the philosophy of "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer" quite easily. The place names involved are either German or Polish, not English. I don't know what type of spellchecker you use, but Dachau, Bergen Belsen and Auschwitz are all in English language dictionaries. ( my online spellchecker corrects them, as does google)The place names involved are either German or Polish, not English. My spellchecker was unhelpful. Most American families have at least two cars - one for him and one for her. Many folks are getting EVs as third cars for putting around town on short trips. Lotta people have one or more motorcycles as well as cars.It really does suck. Like uber is too expensive to take to and fro work especially if you don't live really close to where you work so if your car goes down you can't get to work and its just a cycle you can't really get out of without help.
It sucks living someplace where freedom of movement is denied! You have my sympathies. It sucks living someplace where driving is mandatory.
There are 278,063,737 personal and commercial vehicles currently registered in the United States as of 2023. Which averages out to 1.79 per household. 8.3% of households in the US, don't have a vehicle registered vehicle. DC leads the country in locations where vehicle ownership is decreasing. Montana leads in ownership of vehicles with 2.5 per household. While Idaho and Wyoming tie for highest rate of car ownership with 92.6% households owning one or more vehicles. Wyoming also leads with households that own three or more. Most American families have at least two cars - one for him and one for her. Like in your brain for example? It sucks living someplace where freedom of movement is denied!
Exactly! Forcing people to own cars to get around makes them much less free. Ironically I’m typing this on the train as I head downtown to work.It sucks living someplace where freedom of movement is denied!
Owning a vehicle is freedom of choice and freedom of movement.Exactly! Forcing people to own cars to get around makes them much less free. Ironically I’m typing this on the train as I head downtown to work.
Being forced to own something is freedom? Seems kind of Orwellian.Owning a vehicle is freedom of choice and freedom of movement.
And it's entertaining when they all start bitching about the price of fuel going up too!Owning a vehicle is freedom of choice and freedom of movement.
Ok, I don’t dispute those figures. There are 278,063,737 personal and commercial vehicles currently registered in the United States as of 2023. So most households have less than two vehicles, and in large urban areas, ownership is declining, at least that is what Forbes is stating.
