Do I have any other options?

If you tried to contact laurel by e-mail, forget it. E-mail is so clogged with spam she very seldom sees anything. Try a PM, private message, now called starting a conversation. Click on her name anywhere on any forum and get after it.

Pictures of any type go to Illustrated, which get published about once a month.
I also didn't know about any of this either. If illustrated stories take at least a month, than that is probably your answer right there. If there are multiple illustrations, then it might take even longer. Plus you seem to have indicated that these submissions are quite large, which may also slow it down. If you have some patience, as I said, you'll eventually get what you want.

As an aside, I've never tried to contact Laurel. The assumption here is that she is crazy busy, although she has been handling this workload for a very long time.

You are being too harsh towards the guy. His problem comes from the lack of communication from the website moderators/owners thus making him feel unappreciated. Sounds familiar? It should.
To be completely honest, I found that Laurel usually responds fast to PMs about story publishing. My advice to the OP is to make a PM to Laurel with the title "problem with story publishing" or something like that. Have some patience and you might find your problem resolved. There are definite issues with the way the website works, but it is still a good place and I believe you can work out your problem. If not, then you are the only one who can decide what to do.
We aren't parasites of the website; our relationship is one of a symbiosis, so I believe better communication would definitely make things better for everyone.

@GaryLMMartin,

I am reading here that you included a "cover" to your book.

Are you referring to the option of adding a cover within the "Series Manager" tool?

If so, I too have seen that approval process take more than a week. I can't understand why that would delay the posting of a submitted story though, but your submission process could be different than mine.

These aren't just stories they are books. I paid a lot of money for my covers to be professionally illustrated and they are beautiful. If they won't take a minute to add a single image for a 20 or 30 part story, and if they won't even respond to my message of inquiry, then there's no author support and it's not worth it for me to be published here. I don't feel like I'm asking for a lot.
Ten days is not that long to wait. It seems like your submissions are long and complicated. You've been here long enough to understand how Lit works, including its limitations.

An alternate I've used here to connect book covers to stories is the announcement thread in the Feedback forum (https://forum.literotica.com/threads/new-story-advertisments.181349/). It doesn't do it directly, but it does give some more readership mileage to the work. (My avatar is a book cover--and I changed it regularly to other book covers until the Web site was reworked to where I can't determine how to change the avatar.) I have had readers voluntarily provide illustrations of published stories here, and, in coordination between them and the Web site, managed to post those to the announcement thread.

When I have book covers, it also means I have books in the marketplace. Literotica has a thread (at the tope of the AH. https://forum.literotica.com/thread...eir-books-for-literotica-authors-only.569279/) which allows me to announce them with the book cover.

I don't see anyone being harsh. I see other users taking the time and effort to try to help the OP understand what's going on and what to do about it.
You should see me when I’m trying to be harsh 🤣.

I have found Laurel goes out of her way to help if you are:

  1. Polite
  2. Your request is reasonable
  3. You explain that it would be really appreciated if she could help
  4. You state that you know she’s snowed under with other stuff
  5. You don’t expect a reply ten nano seconds later
Things I doubt will help to make your case:

  1. Being rude
  2. Seeming entitled
  3. Unreasonable expectations about turnaround times
  4. Expecting things to be different for you than all the other members
  5. Being told it’s not a big deal to just do what is being asked (like you run a site like this?)

I've also had positive experiences with PM-ing Laurel. Goes without saying that I was being polite and constructive. Still, the queues are often very long and the frustration is understandable. If the guy says he wasn't able to reach Laurel in a PM, then the fact that his frustration is seeping out here isn't very strange. It is misplaced, of course, but we have all been there, so the mockery feels a bit too much in my eyes.

Patience, to learn, he must. Yes. Yes.

One day, my dear, you will realize that the LW commenters are much more civil compared to some of the piranhas here. I'm experienced enough to ignore most of them, but I can make an educated guess as to who you're referring to.
Go on. Please share 😊.

Personally I think of myself more as an Angel Fish or Yellow Tang.
