Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

I'm English and I don't know.
Our national flag is his cross. I think there's church services and official flag flying etc.
From a quick Google he was from the middle ages and born in Turkey but never even came to England.
Usually anything patriotic here is taken over by the same people who inflicted Brexit on us so I usually avoid it
St George was from Cappadocia in Turkey and had nothing to do with England. He was only “discovered” by Richard the Lionheart on his Crusade In the 12th century. The original patron saint of England was St Edmund who was martyred by the Vikings in the 9th century. He had an enormous shrine at Bury St Edmunds
Edward III decided St Edmund wasn’t sufficient of a hero, so he adopted St George as the new patron saint of England in the 14th century 🤓

Yes but the record was found in Georgia, or that’s the way I understood VV.
True. Georgia was also at some point part of the Roman empire - some parts even when St George died (the area wasn't called Georgia then), and the rest was ruled by 2 kingdoms, one of them was one of the earlier Christian kingdoms ever.

And as Christians were scattered, they kept contact across distances. Also the stories were spread, of course.

I was never taught anything about almost any saint, as the Lutheran church here is protestant and doesn't keep saints.

But combine some googling, and knowledge about history and geography...
Lutherans do not keep saints nor do they think Mary was very important. I was raised a Luthern. Not so much anymore. Google search has replaced the encyclopedia.

My moms side of the family are all Lutheran. Although I think they have all renounced their membership 😆😆

I switched to a more modern style of Church. I learned long ago, belonging to a church or claiming to be Christian does not mean you are spirtual or a good person. Sorry I forgot the rules of chaos.

I was raised Lutheran, in principle, and I even had to participate on religion classes in school upset till 6th grade.

But I have always been athee, for as long as I can remember the Christian stories have been only that - stories for me. Luckily my parents had renounced their membership and they let us decide. We all daughters have a different take on religion.

I am reading Dagens Nyheter (Sweden’s daily news) and the one article about cancer states that red wine is good for preventing cancer. Well considering how much I drank last night I think I might be immortal 😂😂😂
These kind of posts made me bite my tongue and not get started about the other effects...

On logging in I thought this is a historical or hysterical church service!
Someone, I need coffee!
