Gun buy backs are a joke. You expect someone with multiple hundreds or thousands of dollars in a gun to sell it to the cops for a $50 gift card? Not a chance.

Except they do work. Especially in communities with high poverty rates. Because so many guns are not paid for or are paid very little for. Because we have a glut of them and they are so easy to come by. It's a free 50 bucks for most of them because the the guns are cheap and easy. Often times free. Ask the cops.

If you're going to have a full-throated support of all the guns in America and even want more, then the least you could do is actually be familiar with the situation.

I've already explained the mental health idea, I've already explained the punishment for illegal gun usage, and economic opportunities seems obvious but here goes anyways. If there are no viable jobs, ones that pay more than minimum wage, then being a gang member, selling drugs, or stealing, may become a way of life. There needs to be incentives by the government to attempt to revitalize inner city areas with more and better job opportunities.

Gee, Sean, past history of these gun buy backs shows that they have NEVER paid more than a $200 gift card. So unless you have insider info that they will pay more I am just going off past history of gun buy backs. I would not even consider a buyback at that price. Not one of the firearms I own cost less than that originally.

And look what gets turned in most often pieces of shit guns, many broken, or in pieces. They are not the major problem guns. You are definitely not seeing AR-15's or AK-47's or modern usable handguns at any kind of measurable rate.

I should be familiar? You can't define an assault weapon. You can't define the difference between full auto and semi-auto methods of operation. You can't define the difference between a clip and magazine. It seems I am more familiar with who is suffering the most from gun violence with little to no politician or media care or coverage.

How well do they know you? How many are aware of the posts you’re making here? How can they learn if you’ve stopped taking your meds?

I educated my sons on firearms and firearms safety when they were young. My guns were always locked in the safe so they were incapable of getting at them. If they wanted to go learn to shoot we went. No firearms accidents at my house.
