TrailerTrash obviously doesn’t realize what executing an emergency psych hold entails, nor the realities of the cost and lack of facilities that make their “plan” totally unworkable.

TrailerTrash obviously also doesn’t realize that many mass shooters aren’t certifiably insane (just aggrieved “men” typically) and would likely pass a psych evaluation. A psych hold is also limited to 72 hours without a hearing.

After 72 hours, those aggrieved “men” subjected to an emergency hold initiated by their family who have passed a psych eval will be released with the full right to possess an assault rifle with a large capacity magazine.

I wonder what they will do next……

There's a lot of truth to that. It's a very selfish and irresponsible perspective. The reality is that they are not alone in society and that their personal beliefs are putting others at risk. But as long as it doesn't effect him then it's not a problem.

I have a hunch he'd think differently if his grandchild was killed in a mass shooting. It's a shame that that is what it takes to get people to care - to have them or theirs be grievously harmed before they wake up.
