I'm near of an age where I'll be due a letter telling me I've a prostate exam, gets triggered in the UK when a guy hits 50, no looking forward to that but since my paw has recently had the all clear from prostate cancer I'm no gonna ignore it

The prep is by far the worst (and really only uncomfortable part). Having nurses come in to deliver lines like "you can leave once you pass gas" gives me cart Blanche to launch into fart jokes. I swear they give me some version of laughing gas. I wake up rested and in a great mood.

I'm so happy to see that you aren't going to ignore it. Here's my PSA on PSA (prostate specific antigen) testing - My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018. He was only 49 years old. He had no symptoms and nothing out of the ordinary was noted on his prostate exam. But, as his mother had a history of breast cancer, his doctor tested his PSA level. It was elevated. It was retested and still elevated. Ultrasound showed a small mass on his prostate, which was biopsied and confirmed to be a moderately aggressive type of cancer. He had his prostate removed and is doing great over four years later.

So, please guys, start getting tested at the recommended age.
