I was in northeastern Missouri not too long ago. It was on a Friday evening, and the sunset was a classic. I was driving due north, and off to the west, I saw a big cloud dumping what I believed to be snow near where I was headed.Years ago we were visiting friends in Chicago and took a day trip out to Rockford to see Cheap Trick (my wife's favorite band) in their home town. On the way back the sky was purple and the thunder and lightning rolling over that flat landscape was both awesome and terrifying.
Eventually, I had to turn west into the cloud, and sure enough, it started snowing. But watching that cloud for miles in a glorious sunset was a thing of beauty.
