Nowhere this is weird. I've been productive maybe 20% of the time, even less. Rest of the time either been idling, or trying to work (in principle) and not managing anything, and in any case being anxious as hell.

And now my boss says he's been pleased what I've got done, considering my lack of experience with this particular job 👀🤯

I don't know what to think of this.
Sounds to me like it's some good steps in the right direction. Especially if your boss is saying they are pleased with what's been accomplished so far.
I'm sure the 20% productivity will increase to 25% soon and then 40% and more.

Well... The idling would be easy to fix - just give me something to do while I wait for answers!

But the difficult part is me not handling well certain things, like unclear procedures (common when dealing with development), contacting people all around (also common) etc. So nor so sure I'd get above 40-50%, or that my mental health can deal with it.

The weird thing is that we talk of alpha men, and think it's a concept copied from wolves, but actually how alpha wolves are perceived has been loaned from humans for a long time... I think true alpha wolves are much nicer than many "alpha men" !
The “alpha men” that are talked about are wrong.
Completely self sufficient, not given to emotion, take care of everything…that’s not an alpha.
An alpha understands he’s part of a group, or a partnership, and though he (or she) might lead, he’s doing it for the good of the others as much as himself, and he’s not doing it alone.

Exactly! They have nothing to prove or need to bully.

Your alpha is way better than what’s traditionally looked at as Alpha. The traditional Alpha is kind of an asshole.

Well, as so many people understand "alpha" like that, I rather refer to wolves. Wolves know one cannot afford to act like that.

If I disapear from the page, it means the storms are here and perhaps lost power again. I hear thunder to the west and radar looks awfully red. Not good.

Well said!

Exactly this, and it’s why I picked it
Your interpretation of an alpha kind comes clear when following your actions ❤️

The 2 versions - what wolves are and what some think alpha means - are even present in the werewolf stories. Some writers describe weres as rather appalling beings that treat females like slaves. Some combine wolf-like behaviour with human tribe structures. (Some few use families like in wolf packs.) I find the more wolf-like stories both more pleasant and more plausible.

Good morning chaos... I see we're talking about alphas and wolves.

The funny thing is, the common cultural perception of wolf social structure is completely wrong. Humans sure do love to project and anthropomorphize.
We also like to find excuses to bully other people in the animal kingdom, it’s a bummer.

I will say this... If you are ever fortunate to see a Wolf in the wild... You will never forget it.. They are simply majestic animals.. At least I will never forget it

I once visited a zoo in the winter. Best visit I've ever had! Heat didn't make animals lazy, and there were very few people. Probably no more visitors than workers. So the animals were active, and wolves were actually curious. In the summer one might not even see them (as they could retreat to an area in the background) - now they came to see who walks there.

The air in their steps... Compared to dogs they DANCE in the snow. They have style that no dog has. I'll never forget that.
