Oh no its SundayThank you, I need it! Cuz I agreed to work today and I don’t wanna!!!!
Yes I willOh no its Sunday. I hope you will at least get Monday and Tuesday off.
We adjust. I firmly believe in listening to what out bodies are telling us. We do we must! Wishing you the best and sending a hugYes I will. You know, I remember right before covid I was working M W F S and twice a month I would willingly pick up Sunday. What happened to that person huh? Now I’m only working 3 days (except for this week obviously) and it’s all I can manage
Maybe it wasn't just covid that happened?Yes I will. You know, I remember right before covid I was working M W F S and twice a month I would willingly pick up Sunday. What happened to that person huh? Now I’m only working 3 days (except for this week obviously) and it’s all I can manage

I should clarify, I didn’t have covid, I was just using it as a time reference. When things opened back up again I was working 4 days, but they were longer days so I was still productive. After my tracheotomy last April I’ve only managed to do the 3 days. I definitely am always tired. Never get great sleepMaybe it wasn't just covid that happened?
And... What about the amount of sleep? It's not like you can have deficient sleep for long period of time without consequences.
I was not here last April, if you want to share, I am curious. I also respect if you do not want to.After my tracheotomy last April
I used covid as time reference, too. Had you had it, it might explain the change alone, but not the pandemian alone.I should clarify, I didn’t have covid, I was just using it as a time reference. I concur, my energy levels declicne with aging.Your tolerance for what you're used to has changed, and that's ok. It's normal. It would actually be kind of superhuman of you if you were able to jump back in right away to the same degree.
Going to the farmers market a few weeks ago wiped me out for days, mentally and physically. I used to be the person who did a music festival and Spartan trifecta in one weekend. And that's ok. It takes time to work back up to things, or maybe priorities change.
You’re right, i should be more forgiving of myself. But I just feel like I’m being a lazy assturdYour tolerance for what you're used to has changed, and that's ok. It's normal. It would actually be kind of superhuman of you if you were able to jump back in right away to the same degree.

It was in April of last year. I actually came to the threads because I had all this time to kill while I was laid up, so it wasn’t a total loss, I love you guys!I used covid as time reference, too. Had you had it, it might explain the change alone, but not the pandemian alone.
But I didn't even know you had tracheotomy done! It was before I came here. Awful to have such side effects. Can you compensate the bad quality of sleep at all by sleeping more? Or is the recovery still continuing?
It takes a long time to adjust your mental scale to your new situation. For me it took even years to believe that I can't expect to do as much as before. You’re right, i should be more forgiving of myself. But I just feel like I’m being a lazy assturd
Give yourself grace. It's Ok to feel the way you do. There is a book called "It's OK to not be OK". We all need to be not OK.You’re right, i should be more forgiving of myself. But I just feel like I’m being a lazy assturd
I’ll pm you laterI was not here last April, if you want to share, I am curious. I also respect if you do not want to.
And being Ok is what we define for ourselves and not by others.Give yourself grace. It's Ok to feel the way you do. There is a book called "It's OK to not be OK". We all need to be not OK.
The brain doesn’t want to believe the body!It takes a long time to adjust your mental scale to your new situation. For me it took even years to believe that I can't expect to do as much as before.
And others cannot define it for us, right? And being Ok is what we define for ourselves and not by others.

Well I came here in the very end of April, after you.It was in April of last year. I actually came to the threads because I had all this time to kill while I was laid up, so it wasn’t a total loss, I love you guys!
I feel like physically I’m fully recovered from that ordeal. Maybe it’s just trauma or something. If I’m not sleeping, I’m definitely lying down.
What time is it there?
0730, sunny and warm after the tornado!Well I came here in the very end of April, after you.
It may be mental. But there may be also something sneaky physical stuff. Like having lost iron (blood) and not having quite replenished the stores yet. That's actually quite common after surgery. Lack of iron, even if you have enough hemoglobin, can really make you tired and also mess with your sleep. There might be other sneaky issues, too.
It's half past 3 here.
I definitely lost a lot of blood- I remember seeing it all on my shirtWell I came here in the very end of April, after you.

Exactly. And my introspective isn't even in the top notch. Like, I don't even feel hungry or needing to pee before I REALLY have to. Is it any wonder if I kept banging my head into not having enough energy to do stuff before learning my new limits? The brain doesn’t want to believe the body!
