Quinnipiac Poll: Trump Still Tops DeSantis in '24 Matchup
By Theodore Bunker | Wednesday, 29 March 2023 02:42 PM

Former President Donald Trump remains just ahead of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in a head-to-head matchup for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, according to a new survey from Quinnipiac University Poll.

Trump holds support from just over half of Republicans and GOP-leaning voters, while DeSantis retains support from about four-in-10.

Trump sits at 52%, DeSantis at 42%. However, when the survey includes 15 potential or declared candidates for the nomination:

  • Trump: 47%.
  • DeSantis: 33%.
  • Former Vice President Mike Pence: 5%.
  • Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley: 4%.

DeSantis is illegally campaigning.

But I guess we don't care because things.

Why did you ignore the part of the poll that puts Biden ahead of your false prophet?

He didn't ignore it, so it's OK.

What he's getting at is that the Pollsters should have found another 11,780 Republicans from somewhere and he'd have won.

You have an outspoken racist polling with a would be authoritarian Stalinist-type strongman. The small number of non-whites in the Republican straw poll (e.g. Kanye West) will swing the vote towards Trump in that case. Not too big a surprise. And yeah, most people would pick Biden over either of them in a long shot, and most of those people will STILL tell you they don't particularly like Biden either but the best of the worst is still the best (which actually says a lot about how utterly unelectable Trump and DeSantis are.)

I’m surprised BabyBoobs hasn’t chimed in to correct “Right”guide , and point out how the corrupt orange traitor is being abandoned by “republican” voters in favor of Florida “man”.

👉 “Right”guide and BabyBoobs 🤣

So, the one-term loser who doesn't stand a chance of winning the Presidency next election is ahead of the second-most-likely Republican candidate by 14%. Thanks for the "bad news", genius. 😘

What a nice surprise to see you posting again. I hope things are going well for you.

Because "the poll I posted isn't talking about Democrats, it's about Republican primary contenders. Biden's approval rating the last time I looked was the lowest in history 24%.

That is the poll in your head.

What people don't understand is, yes, a lot of people are dissatisfied with Joe Biden.

And, the majority of those dissatisfied people VOTED for Biden.

And the same majority of those dissatisfied people would vote for Biden again in 2024- for the same reason they voted for him the first time.

Because the alternative- whether it is Trump or DeSantis, was, and is, actually far, far worse.

People that supported Trump like to believe that their views are shared by the vast majority of Americans But they cannot accept that this isn't true. They can't understand how out of touch their own views are with those of the vast majority of Americans. And they cannot accept that the vast majority of Americans found Trump to be corrupt, authoritarian, self-serving, incompetent and toxic. So, most Americans voted against him. This is why we got Biden in the white house.

I'm really trying to explaining this in the simplest of terms, because some people's cognitive capacity in these forums is really not very good.
