What’s your most controversial opinion?

I think it's still legal (and happens) in some states (parental permission required, maybe). Certainly it still happens on the regular in other countries. If you know someone that travels regularly to the Philippines for vacation, unless they have family there odds are you know a pedo.

My paternal grandmother married a 28-year-old widower with 5 daughters when she was 14 and gave him 9 (farm working) children. This was in the 1930s.

I’m thinking of the way people hear about a pedo and immediately make comments like “he should die” .. “why even let him out of jail” … and while I agree assaulting children is not ok … recognizing the behaviour as something that someone does not out of choice but compulsion … and only by dealing with the reality of the situation can we aim to make it better.
