I shaved my head in solidarity when my mother was fighting cancer. She’s been in remission for years now, and my sister and I are doing our best to keep her healthy and happy, and cancer free.

Mom did make me grow my hair back, though, saying I looked too much like my father without hair. That wasn’t a good thing. The relationship we all had with my father was, well, strained.

The last time I shaved my head was around the time it was announced that Jessie Eisenberg would be playing Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman, and they showed a Lex who wasn’t bald.

There was a sci-fi/fantasy convention coming up, and I decided that I could pull off the Lex Luthor look better than Eisenberg. I shaved my head and my beard, and I definitely looked the part. I did, however, have to make sure my mother was okay with me doing that. She is rather opinionated.

Ugg. Today’s chatter has been sobering. I’m sure I’m guilty of missing signs and clues. And surely just because of stupid shit.

Comedy is not the only ‘skill’ that depends on good timing.

I was always afraid to shave my head. What if I had a weird shaped skull? But when I finally did do it, it wasn't bad. However, I prefer having hair because being bald in winter once was enough for me.
