Yes, but still is not a lot. REM cycles are 2.5 hrs (not everyone is the same but close) so 7.5 should be a minimum. 8 is great and 10 is superb 😂. Anything over that is pure decadence 🤣🤣🤣
FWIW, the last time I got 8 hours sleep was after surgery, full of good drugs. That much sleep often brings on a migraine for me. I get 4-5 hours most nights.

I almost never sleep anywhere close to 8 hours. Like this morning. I was exhausted last night, but didn’t get to sleep till at least 12:30 am.
And yet, naturally woke up about 10 minutes ago.
My normal is anywhere from 6-7.5 hours a night

My sleep length varies greatly during the week. Normally the shortest ones are 6,5h. And then a nap during the day. I may even get that 8h next night.

During weekend 10-12h + nap.

9-10h is in a normal case decadence or a sign of needing more sleep than normally, which again may be a sign of some issues.

@Cindy027 - this is good information. I’ve been in sleep deficit for years (avg 4/4.5 and not coping well) and am finally getting about 6 hours on the usual. Would you know anything about how long it’s takes to undo the damage if ever from sleep deficit!?

Do yourself and your body a favour and see a sleep specialist or start with your GP.
