Define "woke"

And yet still no real definition of woke.

Instead just an endless parade of histrionically shouting at clouds.

In essence, "woke" simply means "some with the audacity to call me out when I espouse my extremist right wing positions". It perpetuates teh "Conservatives as Victims" narratives they continually push.

I have never cared enough to wonder what it means. I just keep stacking gold and silver.

This thread is reminiscent of the question comedian Jeff Foxworthy addressed in the 90s. The term “redneck” was widely used back then but the definition was imprecise. He sold out shows with helpful guidance for people who might fall under that umbrella.

“You might be a redneck if…”

So it is with woke. “You might be woke if…”

So you admit, you can't define it either.

I still have no idea what "woke" is supposed to mean. And I still don't give a shit.

I generally don't care and or take it as a compliment if someone says I'm woke. Generally when someone uses it seriously? I take it as a small child tantrum the speaker is using because they can't stand other people being centered and/or their mind is blown that other people exist that are different from them because they lack common sense and empathy. They are outraged you'd want to be kind or acknowledge someone who isnt them. It's never, ever an insult.

nobody had a question about what a redneck was. Which is why the jokes worked. If your truck's nuts are bigger than yours you might be a redneck. If your if you can stumble into your closet and come out matching cus all your shirts are flannel you might be a redneck. Being fair almost every shirt I own is black so I can totally pull that bullshit and I do it on purpose for that reason.

Woke is just the updated version of PC which is just not wanting to get slapped in the face. If you would never call me a nigger you're woke, congrats. If not we might have words.

U angry, Timbits? Hmmm? Everything okay at home?

Harpy is currently “semi-retired” and Ben Crump is crushing it.

That ^ might explain Harpy’s current state of Carbon water decay. - Otherwise known as a classic Harpy meltdown.

Oh look at poor lil' rubbery trying to get attention because he's not getting anything at home.

I'd ask if you were ok, but I don't really give a shit if you are or aren't. Sorry, not sorry about that.

The cultural left has peaked

Moderate liberals are braver now and economic concerns more important

The cultural left, it is increasingly clear, peaked that year (2020). “Peaked” does not mean “vanished straight after”. Progressive norms and language remain ascendant in lots of domains. But the year of “defund the police” and vigorous statue-toppling looks in retrospect like the high noon of something, not the dawn of it. Even the word “woke” has a derisive connotation now that it didn’t back then. Were I to use it in this column instead of “cultural left”, it would be cheap and ad hominem: an epithet, not an argument. That wasn’t so true in 2020.

The word "woke" means the same to me today, as it did yesterday and the day before yesterday, and so on and so forth. Also I should point as a Canadian we are further left, than any of your leftists.....

Candy advertisements ....I think that means that DeSantis is banning Hersheys
Nope. Floridians are free to purchase and eat all the Hersheys candy they want and the company is free to dress up males in female costumes for its international women’s day ad campaign.
