I hear it's better in any middle eastern country.Yeah totally. It's a joke right. We must make it okay by making it a joke. Women as subcitizens is humorous.
Right?
And your reply says what about you???I hear it's better in any middle eastern country.
Oops, My bad.
Must be thinking about some other place.
They're covered head to toe in hot black fabrics year-round and need to have a male family relative chaperoning them anytime they wish to go outside...
The Republican National Committee is doubling down on its anti-abortion stance by urging all GOP candidates and lawmakers to “go on offense” in the 2024 election cycle and pass the strictest anti-abortion legislation possible.
In a resolution passed Friday during its winter meeting, the committee called on Republicans to pass laws “that acknowledge the beating hearts and experiences of pain in the unborn.” Such language has been used to pass “heartbeat” bills that would ban abortions at six weeks, before many people know they are pregnant.
An anti-abortion group in Spokane has been ordered to pay about $960,000 to Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho after its protests were found to have interfered with patient care, the Spokane Spokesman-Review .
These things are only normally illegal in the less civilized, barbaric countries eg Iran, Saudi Arabia and the USA. In a civilized jurisdiction, like Oz for example, prostitution, abortion, and suicide are not crimes at all; they are not even issues. We have some way to go on drugs but the essential chemical in Ecstacy for example, is in process of being medically approved, and we are catching up with marijuanna. One could say you do own your body. However you are governed by others based on laws on how you can use it. Take the following examples.
If some one started cutting off a limb, it wouldn't be long before they would be taken into protective custody. It could be said under the law you do not own your body.
- It is illegal to put certain drugs in your body.
- Prostitution in certain places is illegal.
- Abortion is regulated.
- Suicide is illegal in most states.
Just when Beth and Kyle Long received the worst news of their life, an Ohio law made their searing pain even worse. For four years, the Longs tried to have a baby, enduring multiple rounds of grueling fertility treatments. In September 2022, Beth finally became pregnant.
But an ultrasound four months later showed that most of the baby’s organs were outside the body. The condition, called limb body wall complex, is rare. “It’s just not survivable,” a doctor involved in Beth’s care told CNN.
“They will die. There’s no way there will be a life,” said Dr. Alireza Shamshirsaz, a spokesperson for the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, who was not involved in Beth’s care.
The condition posed dangers for Beth too, and the bigger the baby was, the higher the risk of complications, including dangerous bleeding that might require a hysterectomy. They say their doctor urged them to terminate the pregnancy as soon as possible.
Florida abortion ban includes exception for fatal fetal abnormalities. But her doctors told her they could not act.
So the government forces her to go through the delivery that results in nothing but trauma and sorrow.
That would be an affirmative. Yay for less government. So the government forces her to go through the delivery that results in nothing but trauma and sorrow.
An example of consenting parents that have the resources and relationship to raise their child.Super Bowl first! Mom and child performance.![]()
Don't look in the USA for it....An example of consenting parents that have the resources and relationship to raise their child.
Now, where is the society to allow all of us to be in such a situation?
The article is paywalled. I just read The Guardian’s recap of the WaPo report. There are some holes in the Guardian account that hopefully the WaPo version fills. The Florida law allows abortions after 15 weeks “if two physicians certify in writing that the fetus has a fatal fetal abnormality and has not reached viability”. The “doubly lethal” diagnosis of the Dorbert’s baby sure appears to meet that criteria. Perhaps fault lies with the hospital rather than the government. So the government forces her to go through the delivery that results in nothing but trauma and sorrow.
Given he's a Doctor, and your not, might explain his answer.T
- The Guardian version of the story says the diagnosis was reached in November but the specialist told the parents that termination might be possible, but not until between 28 and 32 weeks. Why?
I’m not challenging the doctor. Interested in understanding why termination of a pregnancy where the baby is diagnosed in November with a doubly fatal condition would need to be delayed until between 28 and 32 weeks.Given he's a Doctor, and you’re not, might explain his answer.

Questions people who have read the WaPo version:
- Does the article provide an explanation from the hospital administrators of how they reached the conclusion that termination was prohibited under the state law? If the diagnosis has been deemed “doubly lethal”, the hospital’s interpretation of the law is puzzling to say the least.
- Does the article include comments from the Dobert’s doctor(s)?
- A text message from a hospital coordinator said the law is “horribly written.” Does the article cite any text from the bill that possibly led to the hospital’s conclusion that a doubly lethal diagnosis doesn’t qualify as an exception? If the law is indeed poorly worded, it would be helpful to know which sections are ambiguous or unclear. The

You don't need to understand why.I’m not challenging the doctor. Interested in understanding why termination of a pregnancy where the baby is diagnosed in November with a doubly fatal condition would need to be delayed until between 28 and 32 weeks.
My questions pertain to why the hospital refused what appears to be a legal abortion in the state of Florida. What language in the law led them to conclude it was not legal? She wanted an abortion for a birth that was not viable and was refused.
Your bullshit is irrelevant.
Them concluding that it was illegal would be part of the issue if it were legal....i.e. loosely defined requirements lead to stupid subjective decisions. My questions pertain to why the hospital refused what appears to be a legal abortion in the state of Florida. You are free to speak for yourself. You don't need to understand why.
