Is this behavior common?

I've recently started posting my first series and all went well, save from some out of order publishing. Then, within an hour, one reader decided to read all my chapters and grade them 1 star, dropping all ratings considerably. Is this a usual phenomenon?

Yeah. Depending on what sections you publish in or the themes of your stories, especially, it’s not unusual to pick up someone that one bombs you on the regular, too. Wear it as a badge of pride.

Was already pinning the badge of pride, but now it magically reversed to the old stats, minus one voter. the Internet moves in mysterious ways it seems... aren't all votes anonymous?

That was a server swipe. It is used from time to time to delete suspicious 1* and 5* as well. In this case, it clearly erased those 1* you got, but stay long enough, and you will see it usually erases far more 5* 😁

It’s less of a medal than a club tattoo. It hurts when you get it, lasts forever and serves as a reminder. Knowing that it’s there lets you nod knowingly when talking to others in the same boat.

It’s all too common, sadly. Like toddlers unable to build their own stack of blocks, they take heat thrill in knocking down somebody else’s.

The sweeps happen from time to time, especially during contests. If you think you have been targeted, you can use the Report icon in any one of your tales to ask for a sweep just for you,

Bottom line, it was just one person, one vote. Don't let one person ruin your day. Think of all the people who read stories, like them a lot, but never vote. Lots more of them around, I'm sure.
