Butters should consider Haley not as a good candidate but as a 'least bad' candidate. Trump and Pompeo are the worst candidates and I put Pompeo as at least as bad as Trump. The real conundrum for Democrats is picking a GOP candidate who is tolerable as opposed to one who can be beaten most easily. I reckon Trump would be the easiest to beat but haven't a clue which would be the most tolerable.

I would vote for Liz Cheney. She at least values the Constitution and doesn't openly support Fascist ideals such as overthrowing an election she loses. She would be a better President than any Republican or Biden

Liz Cheney did ONE thing right.

In general, Liz Cheney, like most right wingers used “the constitution” and “states rights” as cudgels to maintain the status quo of “rights for rich, white, Cis, Christian men and the little women who stand by them.” Liz Cheney is literally a daddy’s girl in American politics.

Currently there is a tyranny of the minority at the federal level, and a tyranny of the minority at the state level thanks to the likes of Liz Cheney.

She drew the line at outright sedition and treason though.

True, but that's still no reason for our side to feel the need to support any Republican for president. The bottom line is, even the ones who have occasionally done something right will be just as dependable in the push for turning the USA into Iran and shoveling ever more money to the rich at everyone else's expense.

Many of these billionaires publicly supported the one term twice impeached former president, but an accidental release of one of the major "dark money" PACs that was unredacted showed they were shovelling shit-tons of money to pay for a voting campaign for Nimrata

Yeah, I'd kind of like seeing a Clinton-Trump rematch after all that's happened since the last matchup. I think Hillary, who trounced Trump in the popular vote the first time, would take the Electoral College too this time.

The “republican” establishment is TERRIFIED of the trend of young people and women voting straight line Democratic Party, They are also terrified of the minority coalitions who see the “republican” party as the white nationalist party.

Enter Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, etc, etc, etc.

The “republican” establishment is praying to satan that Nikk, Timmy, etc, etc, etc, can peel away enough votes from specific demographics to swing the election.

They don’t even have to be the eventual nominee. They can just be “faces” of the “republican” party.

That's not even new. I remember as far back as 2000, commentators saying the Republican National Convention looked like a basketball game, i.e. everyone on stage was Black and everyone in the audience was white. There's also nothing new about them running a token moderate so they can claim to be the Big Tent Party, and meanwhile that moderate is lucky to make it past New Hampshire.

As for Haley or Scott's chances? First of all, that they're from the same state and that state is at a critical point in the primary season is likely to kill one or the other of them off right away (or both if Trump really does run again, as looks likely at the moment). Second, I don't see how either of them fills a niche that needs filling for the Republicans. Haley can't very well claim to be Trump's heiress-apparent if Trump himself is running. Scott probably has some appeal to the evangelical vote, but rumors that he's gay will probably sink him with them (it really doesn't matter whether he really is or not - I don't know and I don't care.).
