Good morning CodemanGood morning y’all!
I meant pure spelling errors and mixing up words. His/he's, there/their/they're and such. Understandable for dyslexic people, but dyslexia isn't that common. There is also another point I don't think anyone mentioned. The purposeful use of informal writing styles. We often speak very differently as well as write very differently due to conventions/group dynamics in different situations. Youth Text speak is a glaring example. It isn't always that they don't know the proper way, but sometimes improper is chosen to mesh with or create that informal dynamic of different situations.
Here the minimum curriculum and the standards are set by the state up till junior high and high school (not vocational school). There aren't many national level exams though, except to get the high school diploma. And to qualify for teaching you need a master's degree, including pedagogical studies - not all willing fit in. Rarely anything other than stand-ins are not qualified.
They are underpaid, though, in most cases. But they don't get punished for kids not graduating.
very nice. though looks really cold lol.
Excellent, it looks like a real winter!
That's so sad...And he also have a movement here that's essentially opposed to the idea of education as a public good, and those people have way too much of a voice in this country.
18 degrees F I think. No wind though.very nice. though looks really cold lol.
I’ll come kidnap you lolUgh! It’s too early-for me!

I’m sorry I didn’t make it til the end of story time! But it was my first point of business today. Drunk broads passing out at your table.. dental spit cups and bags of chips. I hope the place that called you back meets all your expectations! We grab a seat at the overly large table with our 3 rather pretty glasses of 8oz pours - 2 so dark you can not see through them (think imperial stout) and the Saison which is a light cloudy beverage the color wheat
I like to start with the lightest - so I tried the Saison. It kinda tastes like a hard cider, only fizzier and with more citrus notes - mostly grapefruit. It is okay but has a muddy aftertaste.
The brown ale is just - bad. poor effort. As Mr Cas said - it was like the put all of the beer ingredients together and that was it.
and the Chocolate Stout - it was VERY chocolatey. Not too bad. But a bitter after-taste I found unpleasant.
Up an upbeat note - a young mom came in with her ~5 year old with pink puffy boots and a glittery back pack - they set themselves up on the couches and were super cute. Reminded us of Alaska where kids are always welcome and just a normal thing in bars. A little bit of a tough place to hang with a kid - no food service other than bagged chips. One night a week they have a food truck show up there.
If the beer was better it MIGHT be an option for the retirement party. But no. Pass.
As we sit there drinking these beers together, passing them back and forth, Mr Cas says, laughing.. that he sure is glad that we are not on a first date - as this would be classified as a TOTAL disaster. We laugh our asses off and have a good kiss. So... not all is lost - we still have our sense of humor and a willingness to adventure goes a long way in my book.
Strike 5
On the good news front - got an email while we were there advising us that the FIRST restaurant we went to (closed today) does have a party room the right size for the event available the night we would like it. Will have to go back and look at it - they have EXCELLENT food there and a full bar, but I have not been in the room they are offering since an extensive remodel.
So- while we have not got it all figured out yet... and it was an exceeding weird day - AND we learned a thing or two that we did not know.
It'll be a good long time before we head down to check those breweries out again. I wonder if they will still be in business in 2 years.
Story time over - thanks for hanging with me![]()
