Let's also remember that one of them (Joe), is a dedicated American diplomat who probably had a legitmate right to access, while the other (Twice 'Peached Orange Turd) is a foreign asset who most likely was out to sell what he intentionally stole.
Exactly.6 more documents found by the DOJ after they were invited to do a thorough search of President Biden's Wilmington home, no warrant required.
every political figure who has had ANY dealings with classified information might find it prudent now (if they've not already) do a complete inventory of their own offices and residences as well as their lawyers'.
what this clearly demonstrates is the slackness inherent in the system. As to content/intent, that's a whole other story (and i think people know where i stand on it but am open to further factual information), but it's in-your-face obvious now that classified US documents are not being kept as stringently as they'd warrant. This can be a positive thing: it allows the discussions to take place in a bi-partisan manner and perhaps things can be rectified to protect classified material as it should be. The embarrassment of the Biden administration's docs also offers republicans a hail-mary for trump's possession of so many documents. Yes, i know it's a different kettle of fish but it WILL be exploited, regardless, and i can see trump being given yet another get-out-of-jail-free card over his criminal behaviour.
Trump couldn't go to jail for possession of classified material he declassified, this plenary presidential power to do so has been affirmed by the SCOTUS. There is no such affirmation for a Senator or a Vice President. The problem is too many things are classified by the government to protect individuals politically, to protect bureaucratic government institutions and to solidify the government's power over the country at large. Why else would JFK Docs still be classified 60 years after the event and all who were involved are dead?6 more documents found by the DOJ after they were invited to do a thorough search of President Biden's Wilmington home, no warrant required.

It's dark, hot, rank, and tight around his neck. What color is the sky in your world?

Back when I had something to do with this kind of security there were security logs and security officers whose duties required maintaining logs proving strict chains of custody of every document by document number, when they left security vaults, who had them, and when they were returned to the vault. There were also a host of other procedures about "needs to know" personnel authorizations" the identification of "working spaces" and who had the security clearances and need to know authorization to be in those "working spaces."I was thinking it's more like an opaque orange.
What no one on the Left seems to want to acknowledge is that the docs were all classified and Biden had no authority to remove them from the SCIF. That he did so means;
1. Someone (maybe even more than 1 person) failed to adhere to classified document handling and security requirements; and,
2. Biden had to "steal" the documents in order to get them out of the SCIF.
The President can with a process. DJT didn’t declassify anything until years later when someone came up with that for him to say.Trump couldn't go to jail for possession of classified material he declassified, this plenary presidential power to do so has been affirmed by the SCOTUS. There is no "process" for the President to declassify material. All classification authority in the federal government is delegated from his plenary Presidential authority, every government employee in the Executive branch is subordinate to him. By virtue of this constitutional authority to classify information he as President can declassify information in writing, by word of mouth, he doesn't have to tell anyone or submit to any "process" for doing so. This is true of all presidents. It was the reason Bill Clinton could wage a 13-year war with the national Archives about what belonged to him and what belonged to the government. It's what allowed Barack Obama to claim 30 million documents to keep in his library. The President can with a process. Why didn’t he claim that initially?
Now he’s claiming he liked the empty folders as keepsakes?
The departments need to be informed. They weren’t. Not in writing, verbally, or telepathically. There is no "process" for the President to declassify material. That's not true. You don't know when he did it. He stated he did it. Show me the official procedure with respect to the President on declassifying documents, or shut up.The departments need to be informed. They weren’t. Not in writing, verbally, or telepathically.
And he wasn’t President when he magically decided they were declassified.
Thanks for trying.
That’s some impressive sounding boolshit without nary a shred of evidence. I am so glad you’re back. There is no "process" for the President to declassify material. More than one poster has said there are procedures to declassify information. A president can declassify whatever they want, they just can’t do it in their mind when shit gets found - I’d say it’s on you to back up your claim that they can. That's not true. You don't know when he did it. He stated he did it. Show me the official procedure with respect to the President on declassifying documents, or shut up.

*chuckles* The American Bar association disagrees....There is no "process" for the President to declassify material. Trump said long before the end that he was going to declassify all of the classified Russian Collusion Docs proving it was a conspiracy. You have to have a memory larger than a piss ant to compete. This is why you'll always be shipwrecked on the shoals of ignorance. That’s some impressive sounding boolshit without nary a shred of evidence. I am so glad you’re back.

And it's cute you believe the things Trump says.....*chuckles*Trump said long before the end that he was going to declassify all of the classified Russian Collusion Docs proving it was a conspiracy.
It doesn't matter what lies you believed of his.. he can. Unfortunately, what this clearly demonstrates to me is that the Biden people had their thumbs up their asses last spring when they should have seen to the Biden angle on this then. Worse, its January of the next year and their thumbs are still up their asses on this. I'm pissed that they've muddied the waters unnecessarily. The cases are entirely different but not in a way that those wanting to support Trump ever will acknowledge.6 more documents found by the DOJ after they were invited to do a thorough search of President Biden's Wilmington home, no warrant required.

If nobody knows who has what when it comes to classified material then the system is completely broken down. Other than systematic corruption there is no way Biden as Vice President or as a Senator could have top-secret documents in his home or civilian offices. Remember Sandy Berger? He got caught trying to leave a SCIF with highly classified material shoved down his pants and socks. Another of his perfidies was his withholding critical intelligence from the President, Bill Clinton, about the Chinese government having acquired the designs of several of our nuclear warheads. He was a real mess. Why can’t Biden ass suckers understand that if an aide has access to classified documents they’re wrong. It’s not like the individual accessing a classified document can just get up leave the room for a cup of coffee while leaving the document unattended. Having dealt with classified documents you guard it with your life and if an individual is with you to examine the same document in a secure area a classification officer confiscates both your IDs (clearance level) and all communication devices and are logged in and logged out upon exit. You may be asked a few questions, the officer takes the document from you and you’re signed out the exact time and date and document # and in some cases searched before ya get any of your communications devices and IDs back. If you have to transport classified material it’s either by courier or with an escort, NSA or MILITARY attache. If it’s lower classification it never leaves your person and in a sealed envelope inside another envelope inside your carryon luggage.
You’re exactly right with the chain of custody.
If you have to work with classified manuals there is the NDA form. Biden being a 50 year bureaucrat knows better, something stinks to high heavens! IMHO
