I think you're better in blue than you could be in black. And even in situations where the etiquette calls for black, you can actually choose a very dark midnight blue.

I get the social frowning on my dating 3 months after my wife passed away. Social norms are weird so I don't tell people I have a girlfriend. Dating does not indicate a problem marriage or one where we did not love each other. We did love each other deeply. I am a person that needs love, affection, caring and the touch of someone who loves me. Sorry about this but feel the need to get it out.

Me going dancing was pretty invisible for the locals - as it meant a 1-2 h drive to the dancing place. The dancing circles, on the other hand, understand the need to dance. For me it is a way of getting touched and being close to someone while still staying single. I wasn't ready for a new relationship yet, keeping that year in mourning was a piece cake until I found out he had cheated on me. (Which, btw, is the thing that pushed me on this forum and set domino effect in motion.) After that it was a bit of a show only... MIL and my own parents, and most people's around obviously don't know. But one of my SIL knows and is on my side.
