And the number of people killed each year in the US by any means, even adjusted for population size, is vastly greater than in the UK.

Explain that, if you are so clever.

Dead is dead. Method is irrelevant.

I notice that you don't crusade against cars. Cars kill thousands every year. No crusade against doctors either. Or selfies. Or vacations. Did you know that thousands die every year while on vacation? You should petition your local councilman to outlaw vacations!!!!

Swimming pools are another thing you should ban.

Because after all, if it's the MEANS rather than the intent, then anything and everything kills.

Or are you too disingenuous to admit that?

Watching Americans trying to explain away their gun violence problem is always good for a laugh!
The interesting thing about this type of statement is that it's always the Left who wants to let the violent criminals free to continue to prey upon the rest of society. Then blames peaceful society for the resulting havoc.

And yet they claim we're the crazy ones...

Accdents are accidents.

Murders are deliberate acts.

So why do more Americans murder each other than Brits?

Anyone willing to answer that question?

HisArpy equates all deaths by accident with murder. I wonder why?

Hoever, he may be right for some. Deeths caused by DUIs are deliberate acts, so are deaths by speeding or reckless driving. For each a driver has made a conscious choice to drive in an unsafe manner but usually kills someone else.

False.

False.
You're wrong.

In both cases, the driver has acted not just illegally but puts other road users at risk. That is done knowingly. If you're too drunk to decide - that is wholly your fault.

There are literally millions of risky driving events, no way to count them all, daily, weekly, monthly, annually.

No one. not a single one is done with intent to harm another. Most are simply out of carelessness or a feeling of 'I can do it safely'.

Only a small percentage results in accidents at all. Even a smaller percentage results in injury, and even fewer in death. Since the total number of instances cannot be calculated, a percentage cannot be either.

Yes, there are deliberate acts of violence with vehicles, but that number is very small.

Ummmm seatbelts. Speed limits. Cars were looked at a death traps for a while and we fixed it by making them safer.

Do we still get those occasional right wing idiots that use a car do drive into a group of people on purpose? Yes. But no where near the number of deaths we used to have.

It’s not surprising you have such a short memory when it comes to anything.

If one of your family, walking on a sidewalk, is killed by a DUI? Do you think the driver is innocent and should walk?

A: I don't have family.
B: No sidewalks here.
C: If and maybes are not facts relevant to discussion.

So you wouldn't blame a DUI for causing a death?

Or maybe you are a persistent DUI yourself?

FFS

US murder rate is (2018) 4.96 per 100k and GB is 1.2. Are you scrotes really arguing over 3 people per 100K? Idiots.

BTW... Jamaica's is 43.88. Another legacy of British Imperialism.

Ogg's comments have nothing to do with the thread topic ... as usual.

Wrong again.

There was an atempt to defect into accidents being as preventable as murders by gun.

They're not. No one has yet answered my question:

So why do more Americans murder each other than Brits?

Not all gun deaths are murders. So your argument about all auto related deaths not being intentional rings hollow.

Basically, you're doing what the anti-gun lobby does - lump statistics to get a favorable result while refusing to do that for other categories because that makes your lumped-together results look more favorable to you. What really happens is that people understand that you're cooking the books. Which makes you (and your argument) look dishonest.

And let's not even go down the gun deaths as suicide road. Physician assisted suicide is the same thing (dead is dead). The difference is that when someone kills themselves via assisted suicide it's less messy and done with State sanction and approval.

Do you REALLY believe that the State authorizing someone offing themselves with a doctor's help is "safer" than the DIY method? Safer? REALLY?

The above also brings into question the per capita statistics since those are compiled with the lumped-together data.
