In our family books are a common gift, we read a lot - my parents have one wall in the living room filled with bookshelves from floor to ceiling, and another to half-height.
I also have one wall filled with bookshelves. Mostly not fiction, because I tend to lend my fiction from the library.
And for be the Xmas day is reserved for books, chocolate and puzzles. (We celebrate most holidays on the eve here.)

I almost got hit by a bus crossing the parking lot of my elementary school while reading.Speaking as a voracious reader since 6th grade, to the point my teachers had to take away my books because I was reading in class, that is not too much!
Scholastic Book Fair week was what I lived for. If she spends it all today I’ll just hit the ATM so she can go back the next two days too.

I did, too. Actually started listening to the audiobook of Sorcerer’s Stone in 6th grade. Progressed to reading them from there
