now putin says he doesn't need to use nukes in Ukraine... it was the fault of the USA's nuclear blackmailing

Putin's not backing down. It's his style.

He's not even wrong, on both counts. He indeed haven't personally and explicitly said he would use nukes against Ukraine. Only veiled threats that had been eagerly interpreted as such, but had been mostly addressed to third parties. And, militarily, it indeed doesn't make sense to do. They would increase the costs of war, but unlikely would reverse his defeat.

I'm not defending Putin, just observing a fact.

And of course, it in any way doesn't mean Putin doesn't contemplate how to use nukes in Ukraine. Not if, how. It probably fucking irritates him that there's such a supposed power he can't effectively employ. If he figures it out in a way he thinks there's a chance to get away with it he will.

I hate the choices that Putin has made us have.

There's no reason I should have to choose from Ukrainian people having Independence and nuclear war.

And yes, the west and Russia has been fighting about where the line is......but no one said the decision needed to be forced to happen when Putin said it needed to happen.

Fishy will tell me otherwise...fuck them

Worst of all, it's a false choice. If you choose against Ukraine independence, you get the nuclear war in dessert, guaranteed. Because it would then be fist of many such choices.

That was my point. He forced the bullshit.

He will always be the reason we have to choose.

Your choice is between standing up to him or giving up in slavery.

How you deal with him is threaten him back with worse.

You want to negotiate, the starting position should be: we will nuke Russia off the planet, unless, by the end of next month
1) there's no Russian soldier anywhere within Ukraine including Crimea,
2) black sea fleet in it's entirety is scuttled or transferred to Ukraine,
3) a plan for Russia to give up all nuclear weapons is signed.

Then, negotiate down from there. Okay, maybe they can keep patrol boats.

To become a friend with a Russian you have to beat him up. Otherwise he will never respect you.
